    No Load Question

Right on, I run alot of my equipment out of fuel at an idle for storage. Running at high rpms with no load cannot be too good for things but I am guilty of it when first firing saws up. Do not do it with the clutch on as it can jump ship on deceleration.

How old were you when you first ran a chainsaw?

    7 or 8 Homelite 150 under Dad's supervision

Bad News, Good News, Husky 350

I have never had the bolts loosen on my 350 but have had it happen on my 310, a 137 and a few other cheaper saws. Not to be sarcastic, but how do you not know when running the saw that the muffler is coming loose? I was always able to tell the change in the sound long before any damage was done...

    Tune Husqavarna 136

Bump Make sure the carb and boot are secure and the muffler also. The screws are probably a spline drive. You can just cut slots into them and use a small screwdriver

    1-2 chainsaw punch (pics)

I know that truck could not have spent much of its life in NE Ohio and look that clean.

    husqvarna 266 se

check that the carb is not loose. I have seen this a few times, the bolts back out and makes it run goofy if at all.

Why Do You Buy New or Used???

if you go used, are you capable of repairs/mods on your own? thay is key going used. you will be your own dealer so to speak if the saw needs work now or later.

What kind of saws did your dad run ...

grandpa on dads side, never had a saw. grandpa on mom's side, a hand saw. and kept the house heated with that bow saw.
  14. Nathan75

What do you think about this saw...

that is a clean old saw. may not be the most powerful but just as awsome. :chainsaw::clap:

Cylinder and case sealant (Dirko) sources

Dirko is a superior product for its application. An overkill for the saws. Have used it and it works great, so does Yamabond. I Still just use Permatex Copper and it is fine and cheap.

What kind of saws did your dad run ...

all the big names of the late 70's early 80's. Stihl, Jonesered, Homelite, Husky. The only saw he still has is his last purchase, 266SE. One saw, one chain.
