Anyone hauled firewood in an end dump?

I’ve had end dump gravel trucks dump 10 cord loads of cut and split in my yard many times. Also 40 yard bins off blocked wood from arborists. This load looks like it will yield around 5 cords. Started smashing it up yesterday.

    Compact or sub compact tractor?

Those stand on track loaders work really well in tight areas but are very slow moving in big spaces and tend to have modest lift capacity compared to a compact tractor.

Heating a Pool with an OWB

Pretty easy to do. Here’s what mine looks like. Nothing fancy. 500k ( I think but might be a bit less) BTU flat plate exchanger plumbed down line from the pool pump in my garage. No need to drain it in the winter as I also heat my garage. This exchanger is very efficient. Goes into the...

Hutzl customer service is the pits

Boeing recently started manufacturing 737's in China and Airbus has been there for years so we may already be flying in planes that have been built or partially built in China and many other countries. Many products "made in the USA" are put together with Chinese parts. Many of our coveted...

    Compact or sub compact tractor?

Wonder how someone blew up a 3038 with only 200 hours ? That's barely broken in. Sweet deal for you !

    Compact or sub compact tractor?

I agree, counterweight is needed for loader work and helps for plowing but I find the extra weight causes turf damage. I attach a 3pt box full of concrete. Does the trick.

    What's up with Hutzl?

Guess it’s worth a shot then. Thanks.

    Compact or sub compact tractor?

Don’t underestimate turf tires. My JD has 3000 plus hours over 13 years and the rear tires are mint. On my second set of fronts. I run a 60 inch belly deck in the summer and a 60 inch FEL mouted plow in the winter. I ran a commercial firewood busines for many years and used this machine to load...

    What's up with Hutzl?

Do you normally get slammed with extra customs fees when ordering from Hutzl ?

    Double Trouble ...two new saws!

Your 395 should destroy those logs in no time. 24" bar should be just right for that pile. Pro saws are designed to run hard without much adjustment. Run good fuel/keep your filter clean and your chains sharp and you should have no problems. Play safe !

What NOT to do with your chainsaw

Hopefully this POS will get what's coming to him in prison. Child molesters tend not to last too long in the big house.

When do you shut it down for the year?

Mines been running 24/7 since 2008. I've shut it down for maintenance a few times. I heat water and pool as well. Burns very little wood in the summer and stays lit no problem.

    Ontario Chainsaw Modifier

Kind of in the boat as the OP so I thought I would revive this thread. Have a ported Husky 365 XT that was done by EHP about 5 years ago. It's an absolute beast and has given me no problems. Recently bought a new Stihl 661 and am thinking of getting it professionally uncorked. Would love to...

    New to me wood hauler

Nice machine. I have a 2005 JD 3320 with well over 3000 hours on it. Does everything for me. Mows, Plows snow, loads logs, 3 pt hitch splitter works off the hydraulics. I use a box loaded with concrete as a counter weight. If you do the basic maintenance on these tractors they last a long time.

    four man hrs. per cord.

Most commercial firewood operations around here have 14 cord loads of processor quality logs delivered. A large processor can run 2-3 cords per hour with one guy loading and one guy running the processor. The split wood is conveyored to into large cones on a concrete pad and left to dry. Some...

    Husqvarna chain sharpening guide opinions

Just bought one of these Husky roller jigs. I run stihl 33rs on my Stihl 661 and 34rs on my Husky 365. So far so good on these chains. Seems to make hand filing much more precise and consistent for me.
