    If it was up to me,I'd put fire brick on the bottom only.Those little stoves can throw a lot of heat IF a damper in the stove pipe is used.Some of those stoves have a damper installed right in the stove to pipe adaptor on the stove itself.

    Your way is fine if you don't have to negotiate or get stuck in a few long mud holes on the way out of the woods.In that case You may have to unload your truck/trailer or call for a tow at the towers convience.Me, I skid the logs.YMMV.

    My experience with CARB complyent engines is that they all want lots of choke and throttle for a cold start.Even if they've been shut down for 5 minutes they still want some choke for a restart.

    yes and if that happens it's best to pull the plug and pull the engine through several times to clear the cylinder.
