    Can't speak for Carolina, maybe call customer service. Whites and Redwings that I've had a long time are screwed down. Easy rebuild. Never had any trouble. Made here back then. Can't speak for either being made now.

    My Husky 288 chain brake won't reset

    Resetting these even with a vise can be tough. Couple of pics from 288xp 641xxxx (1996 week 41) showing clutch fitment with brake in reset position in oem cover. coil spring in this and 272xp from same year measure 3.33 to 3.37 in relaxed length. Reducing the length of the knee coil spring...

    can't speak for the bailey's am chainbrake fitment, but to reset you could try Carefully clamping brake body in bench vise. Some protection of body casting can be had by wrapping a towel around it. Course the better way is to use an old crank case.

    Winter wedges?

    White oak, dog wood, single taper 1/8" long grain to 1 3/4" or so from 1 3/4" x 14" through and throughs select and better. Cut better green, dry them bundled. hth

    Chisel grinding and fileing. NOT SQUARE !!

    Clean smooth gullets get the chip flow carried out of the kerf with less bind (friction) into side wall of mart Imo, near as important as that 020-035 sharp side plate down from the corner. Both need each other.
