Well, you've graciously added a video that says that they test ONLY the weld materiel itself, so I guess the "more penetration= more unified/solid structure:dizzy:" is out the window.
There isn't a slag inclusion in the whole works, regardless of the purtiness of the welds. Now, if you want to...
Did some weighing of saws just now. All saws have about 1/2 tank of fuel. 359 Husky with 18" B+C: 16.8lbs. Jonsered 52 with 20" B+C: 18.2lbs. Jonsereds 2050 16" B+C: 14.6lbs.
I love handling the 2050. The 52 gets heavy after a while. It looks like the 359 falls right in between these two...
Chainsaw boxes = blech. Just give me a bar guard and be done with it. The only thing that caught my eye was the bar clamp that you can drive in to a stump.
The two round files are 4mm. No clue why. They aren't for this 3/8ths chain. Bar is 18" and loaded with full chisel.
Besides worth, what exactly is this saw? Strato? Cat? HP? I have first dibs but won't take any advantage.
Thanks gents.

My wife's friend's husband died. She want's to sell the saw. I was asked what a 357XP was worth in good shape. I said $400. This is what showed up.
I disagree. The viewpoint is only reasonable if you think that every engineer from every company has the latitude to do his best work. There are more than a couple of engineers in my immediate and extended family. Latitude is a commodity in short supply. In my personal line of work, (self...
In response to singletrack100, I doubt that I could ever find a replacement part for my little vacuum line do hickey. The 2050 wasn't made for long, wasn't a pro saw, and wasn't exactly a Jonserend, Husky, or Pioneer.
The picture @...
On a side note, simply smacking the former kickstand flat and drilling holes in it to match the original valve handle, turned out to be unsatisfactory. I drilled the holes a smidge bigger and covered the end with thin layer of brazing rod. Re drilling the holes and some work with a mill bastard...
I'm going to say that the word "rated" was a poor choice on my part.
When perusing the link and contrasting the Murex 6011C to the Murex 7014 I would have to say that it would be tough to say that the 7014 was harder. I also notice that Forney says that their 7014 has a tensile strength of...
The U-bolt is most likely unnecessary, but is there to give the front of the cylinder a little support so as to minimize the likelihood of the ram bending. I imagine that the piston and cylinder will be under a little less stress too.
Putting the wheels way out back is a compromise. The whole...
And yet the hydraulic fittings you can buy are zinc coated. I think the deal here is that engineers are worried that a chunk of zinc may flake off the pipe and get into the system. The few fittings I used were eyeballed by me, and passed the test, and most of the galvanized fittings have a big...
The 5/32nds rod was Murex 6011C and I'm pretty sure it is rated @ 70,000 psi. the 3/32nds rod was some Forney 6011 that I KNOW has a tensile strength of 88,000 psi and a yield strength of 80,000 psi.
I'm familiar with the terms of the nomenclature of welding rods, but if you dig a little deeper...
Wheels are from a minivan rear axle. Welded the 6" tube to the axle, then cut off the excess. The "cast steel" of the wheel hubs is some interesting stuff. Flowed really weird.
Really wanted the valve to mount on the cylinder to save weight and making a mounting plate. The only way to do that...
