advice on 346 xp e tech

I've been keeping mine around 12750 for break in, it's running quite rich though and might raise the revs to 13250 or so.

advice on 346 xp e tech

What should the NE346XP be tached at? I assume it's different from the original 346xp?

Storing for summer, with or without bar oil?

I have a previous thread detailing how I ended up buying a 346xp. After cutting up about 1 cord for cleanup, I need to store the saw. I've already searched the forums and there's tons of advice on what to do with the gas tank. Less clear is the bar oil tank. I've decided to run her dry on...

Husky 350... bar and chain? mod?

I'm currently running a 16" Oregon pro-lite narrow kerf bar with a 20LP non-safety chain. I've also tried the same bar with 95VP safety chain. the 20LP cut's ALOT faster. If you're a newb you might want to try a safety chain first, but I've got limited experience and the 20LP chain has been...

    BR600 IPL / Service Manual?

I don't know if this is the right place to put this, but my BR600 is now around 100 or so hours so it now needs a valve adjustment. My local dealer wants to carge me $60 for a 5 minute job. Does anyone have access to these documents? Thanks in advance.

    Thoughts on Husqvarna 345?

Are the new line 445/450 made in Sweden still? Or are they made by Poolan? I know the 455 is still swedish made as the ones at my BLowe's are.

    Chain Differences - 3/8 - .325

Does a NE346xp have enough to pull a 3/8" 16 inch bar in softwood? If so, I'm getting a 3/8 sprocket combo

    Chain Differences - 3/8 - .325

What about a "mini" or lo-pro 3/8 vs. .325? I know the .325 takes smaller bites than the 3/8, but is the lo-pro 3/8 even smaller?

    Husqvarna 350 v new 445

Either find a new 350 or rebuild the motor. Even straight 30weight motor oil mixed with gasoline would've been kinder to your motor than bar oil. Tacky oil doesn't work too well with rings. Seriously, just get another 350 if you don't want to rebuild one. The "new" 445/450 series weigh more...

    Husqvarna 136

Ouch! I guess I'm glad I got the saw I wanted before the EPA got to it. I can't wait for the X-Torqued/E-Teched 3.5hp 446XP that weighs 2lbs more than the 346xp and comes with even a "composite" handle. Is there any place that will still sell a 136 new?

    Stihl 180 or 210

I definately 2nd the PPE part. I've seen some videos that someone posted here showing a leg of pig? getting shredded by a saw. Definately wasn't pretty. I originally was going to spend all my money on the saw, but instead invested $150 on chaps/gloves/pro forest hat for protection. $150 is...

    Husqvarna 136

That's the 36 though, does the 136 use the same crank/piston? What about the 235? Neighbor "saw" my 346XP in action and is now looking at Husky's instead of Craftsman lol. I was kinda steering him toward the Echo cs-400's on Ebay, but now looking at the MS180 and the 235. Is the 235 an...

    limiter caps

On my 346xp I noticed there's just enough space to get a dremel in there to cut off the limiter part of the cap without removing it. Has anyone done this yet?

346XP too much saw for a homeowner? or 350/353 good enough?

It is a great saw and since it's construction is almost the same as the 346xp I'd expect it to have the same durability. The problem is that it was just a $50 differential between it and the 346xp. At that price, it was a no-brainer for me.

346XP too much saw for a homeowner? or 350/353 good enough?

Yeah, Troll, others have said it too. Dealer did say it sat in the display for almost a whole year with it's twin that he sold 3 months ago. He sells a lot more of the bigger pro stihl/husky saws compared to the 346XP. I'm sort of in disbelief as California is the strictest of states when it...

346XP too much saw for a homeowner? or 350/353 good enough?

SWEET! :jawdrop: Really? How can you tell it's a non-cat model? My dealer did say it sat in his shop for almost a year already. BTW it is the 50cc NE version.

346XP too much saw for a homeowner? or 350/353 good enough?

I've been reading the threads on the non-cat muffler. I see it selling online at Baileys for a pretty good price. I assume when you put a less restrictive muffler on the engine is going to end up running lean. I would guess then I would probably have to remove the the cap limiters and mod...

346XP too much saw for a homeowner? or 350/353 good enough?

Cutting mostly around 12-20 inch doug fir. Most of the trees are small at my big bear property. Ok guys, I guess I'm just going to let the wifey spend the Home Cheapo/BLowe's gift cards on herself and just spend some hard cash at the dealer for the 346XP. I want a saw to last me awhile as I...

346XP too much saw for a homeowner? or 350/353 good enough?

Sorry to keep bugging guys, but this forum seems the highest number of experienced people. :greenchainsaw: I've been involved between echo/husky 350 for awhile now but now I want a saw that will last for a long time. I know the 346xp is a much faster and better built saw than the 350. Is it...
