What to use to keep animals from eating the garden?

What do you use to keep the rabbits, deer and woodchucks from eating your garden? I see tractor supply sells a spray mix, does that actually work? Thanks, Brian

    Advise on felling a leaner

Well I don't have to worry about taking it down, a neighbor of the parents came over this past weekend and did it. Not sure how it was done but I don't have to worry about it now. I just have to cut it up for them and help split it now.:chop: Thanks for all the input on this.

    Advise on felling a leaner

You really think it's a good idea to wrap the tree with a chain? What if the chain gives and now you have metal flying at you at high speed?? I like the idea of holding it together but don't like the idea of a chunk of heavy chain flying at me faster than I can see..

    Advise on felling a leaner

Chipper1, the tree is located in the south west corner of Jackson County, MI. Probably 20 minutes from the I-94 / 127 interchange.

    Advise on felling a leaner

Trust me I have thought about the point you are trying to get across. That's why I'm here asking. I am really wanting the tree topped first and maybe they can even chunk it down from there so most of the weight is eliminated before I cut it the rest of the way. Dad is suppose to have a guy...

    Advise on felling a leaner

Yes for the most part I think work safely. The area on the back side of the tree is almost flat so I could escape quickly. I most definitely agree with the spotter watching for any movement. The hardest part is that Dad thinks the chain should stay on the tree. I told him no way in hell I...

    Advise on felling a leaner

I know this probably isn't the best spot to post this but I know many people visit the firewood section. My Dad wants this tree taken down, it is a large oak with a bad lean. The tree is roughly 36" across and is positioned on a hill. I told him that it is going to barber chair terribly so he...

    No good deed goes unpunished.......

Here is one that I will never forget, I live on a major highway and people are always breaking down in front of the house. One day while I was outside a car stopped in front of the house with a flat tire, after watching him trying to break the lugs loose with his tire iron with no success he...

    Free Safety Glasses

I got mine, but I did have to call them and talk to someone. The lady told me that they were getting so many requests they shut it down. I think it is a load of crap myself, no where did it say they would only ship to company's. But when the lady found out that I work for a large company (and...

Creosote dripping from Flue Cap of Wood stove

I have the same problem as you, I do not run the stove hot enough thus it drips like you say. Mine has dripped so much that it is eating away at the galvanized flashing around the pipe. I had a choice of running the stove hotter which would heat me out of the house or take the cap off, I...

Help on what to look for on used saw

I am going to go look (hopefully) at a used 046, what should I look for that might be signs of trouble. I am going to check compression to be sure it is around 130 psi, I would like to pull muffler off to look at the inners but I doubt the seller will let me do that. He said I can try it out at...

    pile(s) of logs for sale

I came across a guy that claims to have 130 ish logs for sale. They are mostly Locust with a few wild Cherry and a couple of Hickory. The pictures only show part of what he has. These have been down for 3 years now and he has decided to sell them. I do not need the wood but have still thought...

Man that dies with the most wood wins

I have thought about selling some of it, I am not worried about it rotting on me because most of it is under shelter or if it is outside it is off the ground. I am burning the stuff outside first of course. Normally she say's nothing about all the firewood (usually it is just me by myself) this...

Man that dies with the most wood wins

I have about a 7 year supply of wood stashed away and I keep getting more, the wife was out helping me this past weekend and she told me "I should stop gathering fire wood, the man that dies with the most wood does not win" I have to admit, it is getting harder and harder to find places to...
