Around here it seems like the kooks are posting on Craigslist. There's an 025 for $225 and an 041 for $250 right now, for example. For an 041FB to command that kind of dough it had better come with some cocaine and hookers.

A shop in a neighboring town has these marked down from $250 to $150. Is this saw worth a look at this price, or is it just a low-end, disposable saw?

How did you get into that? How do you learn to fly a plane like that (other than the obvious - practice practice practice).

Are you sure it's the coil? Have you tried disconnecting the on/off switch & checking for spark?

Holy moly that thing is clean. Makes me wish I'd hung onto mine. They're surprisingly fun little saws.

I'm wary of any saw that's not complete. A saw with even a couple missing parts suggests to me that it had problems at some point, someone got half way into fixing it & gave up. Or the saw had known issues and parts were scavenged from it to fix another saw.

Haven't removed the original gasket yet, but I pulled a corner of it up and it's about .010 thick. I'll definitely be setting this up w/o a gasket for whatever those marginal gains will be. Milling the jug is beyond my knowhow & resources, so I'm not gonna sweat it. It worked fine before, it'll...

White-top Husqvarna 50 Rancher. Measured the squish w/the original gasket & a new piston at .062. Seems kinda high. Welcome to the site. You didn't mention the price of the saw, and I'm not sure how things work in Wisconsin, but around here if an 031 on Craigslist was a good deal it would be gone by the time you could post your question about it. It might pay off to spend some free time reading about...
