This is one I have not heard of. How much wood do you go through in a season and for what size heating area and how well insulated. A friend is sold on a OWB and I would like to steer him to a decent one since there are so many money pits out there!

How long have you been running the Eko? I agree about Hearth site...lots of info...just take your time and digest what's most important to your application.

You may want to look at an Econoburn...it's a "gasifier" type boiler and they have an outdoor model. I believe some other manufacturers are also looking at outdoor models. Be sure you locality does not have any regs against OWB's or that they aren't planning any restrictions. We use a Wood Gun...

Of course free is best!!...but then again, all my wood is free so it's all good. But, the best is the densest/driest you can get you hands on. Oak rates right up there for me(after min. 2 yrs drying) but we have more cherry here than anything else and that keeps us plenty warm.
