    oil comparison chart

I recently tried amsoil saber at 50:1 and fouled plugs in 3 different saws. I am not brave enough to run it at 100:1 yet but I have been running it at 80:1 and like it. My opinion is that amsoil has no reputation like stihl or husky to sell their product to the chainsaw community. I think that...

    Chainsaw Oil Questions?

I bought a ne 346xp about 2 weeks ago now. I have ran about 25 tanks thru it so far on amsoil at 80:1. I pulled the muffler to look at the piston and mod it. The piston skirt still looks absolutely new. I could feel and see slippery blue oil film on it telling me that it is working just fine so...

    346xp (NE)

No prob. Just so youre aware if you frequent this site enough you will spend lots of money on saws you probably dont need. What the heck though its only money and you only live once. enjoy.

    Newbee questions,,,,

If money is not an issue try to buy a pro saw. They might be more expensive but for the most part with saws you get what you pay for. An MS 361 or Husqvarna 357xp would do the job you describe very well. I beleive anything bigger would be overkill and a waste of money. Only my opinion though.

    pinched bar fix ?

Your welcome. I couldn't believe it either. They can change the gauge of your bar as well. Only bad side is that they are on the west coast. Even so the work plus shipping is WAY less than the cost of a new pro bar.

    pinched bar fix ?

Chain bar repair can fix you up. www.chainbar.com They are VERY reasonably priced and a pleasure to deal with on the phone. I just sent them a GB ti bar that I bent. Got quoted $10-15$ and it would be straitened, reground and trued. It will be a new bar.

    346xp drive sprocket question

Anyone on the site here try an 8 pin .325 on a NE 346xp. Mine just seems to have plenty of power running 7 pin .325 and 18" bar with full chisel. Thanks Andy

    New here: Got a question

No stihl uses a 12mm mount and Husky uses 8.2 (I believe) and then there is a large husky and small husky mount. I'm not sure if the adapter you can buy from Baileys would work for you or not but I don't think so. Good luck and welcome to the site.:) PS after looking, the bar adapter from...

Why would anyone run 100 to 1 premix?

Why would anyone run 100 to 1 premix?

Just bought a new 346xp last week have put about 15 tanks thru it since with saber at 80:1. After reading this thread I was curious and pulled my muffler. Piston is new appearing and I could feel that the skirt was "oily". I have experienced better throttle response and almost no odor. I will...

i may deliver 2cords of red fir in trade for a 064 today

I do occasionally use some hemlock to use as kindlin. When you're burning fir does it pop, snap, and throw sparks? Hemlock does

i may deliver 2cords of red fir in trade for a 064 today

Wow. sweet deal. People here in the east take for granted the large abundance of hardwoods. I would imagine that 2 cord of red fir would only have about 1/4 of the BTU content of 2 cord of oak or locust. Everyone here in the east avoids softwood with the exception of those with outside burners.

One saw plan: cc's, length & weight suggestions please

Dolmar 7900 hands down. Out cuts the 70cc class but with the same weight and a price less than an ms361.

    Why doesn't Dolmar?

I think that Stihl and Husky definately own the market on that one. What will be interesting is to see what Dolmar will do to comlpy with the new emmission regs. I believe all of their pro saws are only EPA phase 1.
