    Hello again...

Thanks Matt. I've only got girls. They're the best thing in the world but I don't want them around my saws and splitter. So 12 cords a year solo is a LOT of work. I'll get 4 or 5 guys on a Sat over to help me cut and split. Just one day like that bangs out 70% of my wood. So having drafts and...

    Hello again...

^^^^^^ I agree Heady Topper rocks !!! I drank the last two I had at the NASCAR race in NH in July. On deck is Rising Tide Brewing (Portland, ME) Zephyr IPA. It's really a super well balanced IPA. I'm also looking for a local connection for Ithaca Flower Power. I just had that for the first time...

    Hello again...

The fridge has been running in my garage the last 10 years. It's an Amana side-by-side Fridge/freezer. Just used a holesaw to cut two 1 1/8" holes in right side for faucets (1" PVC pipe in holes to prevent sides from crushing when shank is tightened down). You can keep the CO2 inside if you want...

    Hello again...

Kegerator Conversion Only decent IPAs for me. Right now on tap is Baxter Brewing Stowaway IPA (Lewiston, ME) and a homebrew (Whale Tale IPA) I did at Deja Brew in Shrewsbury, MA. No crap beers for me! This is how I started: I built a wood platform to fit two 1/6 barrels. I then swapped...

    Hello again...

I haven't been around or posted in the last 2 years but am still living the OWB dream. All must be too well because I haven't had any questions. Hope this message finds all my old friends well. In my spare time I've used the money saved on oil to convert my garage fridge into a double kegerator...

Finally Got the Big Boy Saw

Nice saw. Pick up a 24" bar for it and it will run like a beast.

All members participating in the helmet signing, please check in here.

I'd still like to sign it. OWB is alive and well here. It's just been a long nasty Winter. Hope everyone is doing well.

I hope we're half way tru winter

Oh yeah my CB5036 is eating wood like a Fat girl, Weight Watchers dropout eats ice cream. Sunday and Monday night look to be the coldest here in a couple years (-12F). The beauty of the OWB isthat the colder it is, the better they work. I'll likely stuff it real good tomorrow night around 10PM...

Water Lines From Stove to House

ThermoPex My CB ThermoPex is buried about 24" and wrapped in utility sand. 70' run to house. No temp difference from OWB to house yet the ground around the pipe does not really freeze.

    What made these cuts

It's very obvious....only Chuck Norris could do that.

    Seasoned Score....Roll-off style (PICS)

Roll-off filled about 472 cu ft or 3.6 cords. Dumped it out at my house today. Perhaps another cord left for a second trip. Roll-off load was approx 12,000#

    Seasoned Score....Roll-off style (PICS)

Cut down a bunch of trees at my folks house in March. Mostly Hickory, Oak, Black Birch, and some Maple. I think somewhere just under 4 cords. Since I don't own a truck, I had to improvise. A good friend with his own rubbish business dropped a roll-off container and will snag it and dump it out...

    ground wire

Thanks for sharing this. I installed my own pumps too and an electrician once told me ALWAYS hook up the ground. I just always have...now I know just how important it can be. Hope you're doing OK.

    Started the OWB today

It's 40F here right now, we will be in the 30s tonight. Still love the OWB lifestyle! Free heat and hot water, best of all no Arabs profiting from keeping my family warm.

    Started the OWB today

Fired mine up a month ago. Gotta love the free hot water! I use very little wood right now. I keep a small fire in the front and water temp set at 165F:blob2:

    Fired up the boiler

You're lucky, my wife will call and say, "I think I heard the oil burner go on...does that mean the OWB is low?". In he defense when I'm away on business during the Winter I stack some smaller chunks near the OWB and she does a pretty good job.

used motor oil for bar oil

He has been doing this for many years and gets all the money he can out of his saws. He does not have any mechanical problems in doing this. I side with you folks in that I do not want used motor oil slung everywhere.

used motor oil for bar oil

Not for me A friend of mine who is on the commercial side swears by used motor oil for his saws. It does save him a ton of money as he uses a lot. This is not for me though. I buy a case of 4 1-gallon jugs and it lasts me a while. I don't need to be exposed to any components of used motor oil...

    Taco pump on 6048?

Flanges Mine is mounted with the insulation cut away (009). Those flange assemblies will turn anyway you want so if you want to cant the pump out to avoid cutting the insulation you can do so and still fit the 009 in and be able to close the side panel.
