    SuperSplit with 4-Way wedge

Great setup! I love mine and dont do nearly the volume you do so I can't see myself modding mine, although I am curious has to how you get yours to stop before it hits the wedge with that slip on 4 way???

    New Wood Storage Area (PHOTOS)

The after picture looks a lot better, at least that pig of a OWB isn't smoking so much! Looks good. ;)

    Need Mid-Range Saw Advice

First choice would be a 346xp. The 5100 is the best bang for the buck. The 260 is an older saw, but it's a "steady Eddy" and it has the Stihl name so many like it if for no other reason.

Which Super-Split? J, HD, or Special Edition?

I would have to agree. In fact, I often (mostly) run mine at part throttle... it still has plenty of speed and power, plus the engine is super quiet and fuel efficient when run like this. The only time I crank the throttle all the way up is if I'm in a big hurry or I know I'm going to need the...

Who owns a supersplitter and tell me how great they are!!!

Sorry, no matches found. I too have a SS and love it. It's not a splitter I'd want if I mainly worked very large or tough/stringy wood, but for stuff that's <24" it's the cat's meow... I have no problem with this since 30"+ stuff is fairly rare around these parts, and I'm yet to meet a...

A little brother for the 361?

Little brother? I thought the 361 was the little brother. If I need something smaller I'll usually grab the 200T or the 192T.

    Last locust of the season

Harry, I haven't been around for a while, but it's good to see you're still beating the crap out of those trees. I hope to be able to do half the work at your age. :)

Wood Wolf log splitter...SS knockoff anyone use one?

Here you go Slick. You might want to send him a PM or email to see how he likes it. http://www.arboristsite.com/showthread.php?t=58171&page=5&highlight=wood+wolf :)

Wood Wolf log splitter...SS knockoff anyone use one?

I'll give you a bump on this one. I've mentioned the WW a couple of times in the past and I've never really had anyone express must interest. The was one guy not to long ago that said he was going to look into one (the thread was here in the firewood section), but I never heard any more on...

Gas Co. is at it again, Grrrrrrrr

I think $350 a year for nothing would be a very hard pill for me to swallow! :dizzy:

Gas Co. is at it again, Grrrrrrrr

Our base monthly customer charge went from $7 last year to $13 this year. I use $0.00 as well every month. I'm not crazy about paying them $156 each year for absolutely nothing, so I called them to suspend my service and take their meter back for the summer. The woman from the gas company...

How much for these oak logs?

Maybe I'm naive, but I wouldn't think there would be much wood to be had out of milling an 8" to 12" tree.

How much for these oak logs?

The pics provided in that first CL listing shows way more than 3 cords of oak logs.

    Is Poplar worth the effort?

Baloney. All wood will burn better, hotter, and cleaner when seasoned than when green... regardless of what it's burnt in. Personally, I don't bother with poplar unless someone gives it to me split and ready to go. It contains little btu so I would always go for the better low hanging fruit...

    Woodstoves, Catalytic vs Non-Catalytic?

A well designed cat stove should burn less wood, burn longer on a load, and still throw out a ton of heat. The down side is the cat may need replacing as often as every 6 to 10 years. Take a real good look at the Blaze King "King"... that baby should put out plenty of heat for you (that's...

    Super Split?

Mine doesn't lock either, but I believe this is by design for safety reasons. Either way, I would prefer mine stays this way, for just that reason.

    Husqvarna 390

Ah, the cute camera salesgirl will get you every time! :buttkick: If you like Stihls a little more, then go with them. They typically have a little better resale, a proven product, and have a very good name. With that said, based on your initial post, the 390xp sounds like a nearly...
