    Craigslist laughs

Probably thought it is worth that much because of the use of cedar for closets and chests.

    Electric splitters????

I have one of those ryobi 4-tons sold at home depot. It works fine for what it's advertised to do. It does have a problem when logs have knots on them. As far as build and construction it seems to be very sturdy. Check youtube for some videos of electric splitters. BTW - I was using a 26...

    homelite pro...burnt

I have one of these. 46cc 18" homelite. Have been using it for a few years and it runs well. And it does start fairly easily. Probably be better with a smaller bar though.

    stihl second chain brake

Who wouldn't want a chainsaw that stops when the trigger is let go?

Stihl cause that's all the store carried.

    Starting stihl saw

Used the saw this weekend and it started right up. Pulled on choke until it poped then flipped the switch up. Did two pulls and it started right up.

    anti kickback chain

Is there that much difference in the two types of chain that makes the non-kickbak chain more safe?

    Tree service insurance/liability question.

How can I be sure if the people a tree service brings into my property are insured by them? They, the company, have shown me their proof of insurance, but what should I look for to make sure their "crew" in covered and that the crew are not just some day workers or such they picked up at...

How many cut just for fun??

I use wood for heat. I'm also part of a "maintenance crew" that takes care of a 30+ acre tree filled property for a non-profit organization.

    Electric Saws

This wasn't started to bash elec saws. :) I use then regularly for that quick one or two cuts. They have their uses.

    Electric Saws

Just a couple of comments: 1. Why do people think these things are safer than gas powered saws? Are they seeing something that I'm not? 2. I was using a new homelite electric saw and noticed it had no chain brake. I though chain brakes were required on saws these days. Guess I was wrong.

    Starting stihl saw

I think the manual said 7 pulls on full. "pop" Is that when the engine almost starts?

    Starting stihl saw

Oh OK. I'm fairly new with chainsaws. My trimmer seems to start fairly easier and my lawnmower only needs 1 pull to start. These are my only experience with pull starts.

    Replacement bar aftermarket

Thanks. Also, is it true that the bar should be flipped for an even wear?

    Starting stihl saw

I've read the manual and the dealer showed my how to start. He didn't actual start it but told me what to do. It's a MS290 1. Full choke - pull 3 times 2. Half choke - pull until it starts It always takes me awhile to get it started. Longer than I really want. Once started though it's...

    Cash payment

I see no problems with asking for cash, but when I was getting estimates it was always cheaper if I paid in cash. One guy even said flat out. I charge with sales tax if you pay with a check, but none if you pay cash.

    Cash payment

Why will some guys negotiate a cheaper price if they're paid in cash? Do some do it so they don't have to pay any sales tax? No paper trail? Guess I can understand with credit cards if they (card co) charges a fee.
