    Growing pines from seed?

I dont come around here all that much but read your post and thought I would give my experiences. I have no experience with Siberian Pines, but as a grower of Christmas trees we grow White and Scotch from seed ever year. We stratify the seed in moist sterilized soil for 90 days minimum at 40...

    diagnose a cs306

The muffler screen is perfectly clean. I did take the air hose and try and blow through the muffler as best I could and I did get some soot out of it but not much. I haven't not run it after I blew through it though. Is there a way to take the muffler apart and get a good look at the...

    diagnose a cs306

Need some help from the AS brain trust. Saw in question is an Echo cs306. It was bought new by my Dad maybe 5 years ago or so, I took it after he passed away about 3 years ago. Never got a ton of use in fact I doubt its had 15 tanks of gas run through it. It developed a problem where it has...

    How to find a forester/logger?

Haven't been around the site for quite a while but I need some input from this particular community. Sort of a stupid question maybe but, how does one go about getting a logger/forester to come and take a look at a woods and sell the wood? My mother has 20 acres of rather thick woods that...

    How much do you save.

Our place is 3 years old and we averaged about 1200 gallons of lp a year with the thermostat set at 68*. We put in a high efficiency fireplace this past summer and so far since October we used a whole 40 gallons, thats with a house temp averaging around 78* and its been freakin cold. My costs...

    Echo CS-370

I do have trouble in the very cold with my CS-400. Below 20* anyway. Doesn't seem to matter if its 20* above or -10*. Running by the 3rd pull usually. Idles fine but unable to do much until it runs for quite some time, but once it warms up shes great. Gotta get rid of the limiter caps yet...

    Tractor splitter

We have a home made splitter on a 3 point mounted on a 55HP tractor. Works awesome. With some older tractors you have to run the engine throttle up a bit to get decent hydraulic performance(speed/power). If you have slow response time you could try and put on the largest diameter hoses...

Pulling wood out of the bush, lots of quesions.

A nice off road machine thats light and will drag like no ones business is the Polaris Big Boss 6x6. We've had one since '97 and never fails to impress. 2 straight axle drive axles mean full time 4wd on the back and in real nasty conditions kick in the front axle and just go.

Firewood Pet Peeves. You know you want to vent...

My biggest pet peeve is when people find out what I do for a living and they act like its not a REAL job. I manage a Christmas Tree farm, no work there at all. None, zip, nadda. I make a decent living, could always be better but had a heck of a lot worse, and average 12 weeks off a year with...

    Echo- Cs-530

I hate to say it but there ain't a darn thing wrong with most Japanese engines. When we need a small engine replacement the only thing we even look at any more is Honda. Fast starts, durability, efficiency, quiet, can't ask for much more, I just wish it was American.

    Big load pics

If my memory is right, wholesale is about $60 and retail for about $125 in the areas we sell in. Thats for a Balsam in the 18'-20' range, price goes down with less height.
