Current picts of wood cutting and weather conditions.

Tell, me about it.. IT's kinda sad. They cut down about 40-50 old growth oaks and bucked em at the first branch. Took the big log and left the rest. I'll probably get 100 face cord or so out of it. and its all right behind the house:clap:

I went out to cut some big oak yesterday and decided to take a few pictures. They just logged the swamp this fall. They left all these oak tops everywhere. I gotta try to get as much out of there before spring. This area will be under 4 feet of water at times!

    wow!

This will never happen! If somebody wanted to borrow a saw, they might be able to get one of the little ones from me, depending on how good a friend they were. This big saw could hurt somebody if they were'nt used to hanling a chainsaw.

    wow!

I know.. I deserve it. It is kind of a girly saw. At least I have something to let my sons practice on..lol.... I would have gotten a 361 but I had to get what the wallet allowed at the time. I tell ya what though.. I'd rather use that little saw than my 45cc john deere saw for cutting small stuff.

    wow!

ok.. I had to post a picture.. All I can think of when I see it is Tim Allen from Home improvement.. "wah ah ah ah ah ah ah"

    wow!

I was bragging so much that I forgot to ask.. Is there anything I should do to it? Richen up the mixture? etc... I'm gonna run my mix gas a with a little extra oil in it for now. I'm so exited how much wood I can cut with this thing. I'll have all next years wood done in no time and be...

    wow!

I have been thinking about getting an ms361 for a while and finally pulled the trigger. I did alot of reading and everybody said to get a 20 inch bar instead of a 25. Well, I got a 25 anyway.. The salesman gave it to me for the same price. I have to say I am wowed by this saw! I expected it to...

    stihl usa? germany? china?

No, it does not say where it was made! "manufactured by stihl inc., usa. with domestic and foreign components" it says that it was made "BY" stihl inc.,usa... a company, not a place.

    stihl usa? germany? china?

it just makes me mad that it dosen't say where it was made. I don't think that's too much to ask of Stihl!

    stihl usa? germany? china?

I didn't want to hijack the dolmar/china thread so I made a new one. I recently picked up a stihl ms170 as a backup saw incase my john deere gets stuck and also to clear brush. I like the light weight for that. well, on the saw it says "manufactured by stihl inc., usa. with domestic and foreign...

How old were you when you first ran a chainsaw?

My first job was doing firewood but my boss never let me run a saw. From the time I was 11 - 15. He let me drive bulldozers and big trucks but no saws. Split, stack and thrown wood was all I did. I can't blame him though. I wouldn't let a kid run the big saws he ran. I just let me 15 year old...

    310 compression

I am in the market for a stihl 310 or 361. I went to the dealer yesterday to compare the two and see if it's worth the extra $200. Well, they showed me a used 310 they had in the back that they would sell for $300. The paint was barely scratched on the bar. This was a barely used saw. He said a...

    fireplace door gap question

I just got a set of fireplace doors off craigslist for a really good deal. My fireplace has slight overhang on the top that makes the door frame sit out a little bit on the sides. Also the brick is not flat and there's a gap at the top. Everything I've read on the net says to pack fiberglass...
