    Shopping to upgrade our OWB

Great suggestions. Sweater? Works for me. Wife is pale, redheaded, and always cold. Not worth the argument. Guess the thermostat will stay at 70. lol Door shut? Dang kids. Worse in summer than winter, but common sense advice. I agree. More seasoned/drier wood- Always the goal, not...

    Shopping to upgrade our OWB

Thanks for the input. 100% seasoned and dry wood is simply not an option for me at times. I am crazy busy. 3 kids in activities and self employed in a demanding business. We push a lot of snow. When the ground is frozen, we are often times working. When it isn't snowing, it is tough to get...

    Shopping to upgrade our OWB

Been running a Shaver 165 the last 3-4yrs. 1900sq ft house with pretty good insulation. We have two pumps and pipe runs currently. Both 105-110' in length. We only keep the shop around 50 and bump it up as needed. It is not well insulated but it has some. It is 24x34. Most likely next...

Honda 5.5hp what motor oil is best?

I would go online to Honda's website and check it out. Some of the small engines require straight 30W.

    Murphy's Law anyone?

TMFarm- I am laughing with you buddy. It happens. It takes lots and lots of hours on multiple parcels (which are capable of holding big bucks because not all areas produce AND hold them) in order to kill one. Definitely a chess match. I just figured some of you guys have had the...

    Murphy's Law anyone?

Happened to me today. Beautiful day and as my wife was taking the kids inside for dinner I told her I wanted to head to the woods for a quick mission. I killed a pretty decent buck last November while he was rubbing his antlers on a tree. (You can search "Hickslawns" videos on youtube to...

    Gogher trappin anyone?

Not sure we have any gophers around here, but there are plenty of ground hogs. I prefer the Savage 17HMR for them. Talk about fun. Never eat them though. I do it as a favor to the farmers and land owners as a show of appreciation for letting me deer hunt. Plus, it gives us the opportunity...

    Old boiler system radiators?

Why sell them? I have access to 55 of them! haha I will use what I need. Just debating on whether to buy all of them or not. There are all different sizes and shapes available. These were all being used 3 months ago. What are they worth? $100-200 each?

    Old boiler system radiators?

I have access to some of the radiators they used to use with boiler systems. I don't know if they still use them or not. Haven't noticed any for awhile. I already bought 5 of them. I was considering purchasing all of them and marketing them. I know of at least one guy that is using them to...

    Stumped-by-a-stump questions

It is close to the road? Just rent an excavator with a backhoe or mini excavator to dig it out. Has to be cheaper than the $1200. Farmers dig them out all the time. We have done a few, but I live in flat country, so can't help much.

    Skid loader splitter?

Glad this post was pulled up again. I finally got the chance to use my new splitter tonight. I did use it for half an hour or so when I first got it, but it was waaaay too muddy. Ground never did freeze up again and I was running low. I had to fire up the backhoe and steer through the mud...

    Skid loader splitter?

I question if they didn't typo the high flow GPM? This seems crazy fast. Maybe it was supposed to be 30.7 but the guy put 37? I don't know, but it should be MORE than sufficient! Will keep you posted.

    Skid loader splitter?

My 773 pump flow is 15gpm. My S-220 is 20.7gpm or 37gpm in high flow according to bobcat specs website. With the smaller cylinder, this thing should move! Looks like I might end up retiring at least the 3pt splitter adapted to run off the skid loader. I guess i will know soon enough.

    Skid loader splitter?

Tom- I told him I heard about it on here! Should have mentioned you. I am sure I will be in contact with him soon in order to figure out shipping details. Hddnis- Cycle time I would think would be dependent upon the skid loader operating it. This splits both directions and is the upside...

    Skid loader splitter?

Split-Fire 3208 ordered! Thank you TFPace! The 4208 would have been nice, but I set a budget to keep within in order to justify payback time period. This one fit the description and while it is not quite as big as the 4208 I feel it will serve me well for many years. I dealt with Matt...

    Skid loader splitter?

That is what I am looking for! thanks for the good leads. I liked the 3pt mounted on top of the dirt works splitter, but my tractor with the 3 pt sips diesel compared to the skid loaders. The 773 isn't as bad as the S220, but still consumes more than the tractor. I will look into pricing on...

    Skid loader splitter?

I am going to buy an inverted splitter for our skid loaders. I have a 3pt splitter on the tractor. I have a 3pt adapted to work on the skid loaders. I have my trusty Fiskars. I was planning on either: Buying a pre-made inverted skid steer splitter, or. . . Re-working the 3pt splitter...

Got a load on your OWB yet??

I don't have a whole house outdoor unit, but the furnace hasn't kicked on yet. Thermostat is set to kick on the furnace at 61. House is staying in the mid 60's so far. Not bad for a Lil' House Heater to keep up with 0 degree temps and 25-30 below windchill.
