Never looked into it. The Ironwood has it’s own area in the wood shed; it only gets visited when it’s 20° below zero or colder. I also cut a lot of Black Ash, which has a pretty grain.

Biggest I see in Wisconsin are 10-12” dbh, mostly smaller, maybe 20-25’ tall. They tend to tip over when they get that big, since I mostly see them on hillsides. Great firewood, almost as good as Hedge. Can lay on the ground for years without rotting.

Had mine done when I was 58. I would it’s very close to 100%, now. I don’t think you’ll have any trouble. Good luck, and make sure you a have a recliner to sleep in during your recovery.

I used to cut up big hardwood pallets with one. 6”x8” mains with full 2”x4” cross-pieces. I used to get them by the semi trailer load. Allowed me to sell every stick of firewood I cut. I always wanted to have a carbide tipped wheel made up, but never got around to it. Be nice for Hedge.

If you find a better firewood than Hedge, I’d like to hear about it!
