Does this clutch cover on my Husky 550XP look right?

Everything looks good and the chain flows as intended. The next time I go by my Husky dealer, maybe I'll pop in and see if they have a new one on the shelf I could take a peek at. Something "just doesn't look right" to me. But maybe it's been that way all along…

Does this clutch cover on my Husky 550XP look right?

I'm not wild about the clutch cover on this saw. It just seems like kind of a bugger to get the bolts and holes and nuts all lined up after a chain change. I'm thinking this looks like too much of a gap between the cover and the saw but this seems to be as close or as tight as I can get it...

    Seedling/tree tubes

Thanks Kyle---I would probably look at something like that if I only had a few. Some of the seedlings are already "5 gallon bucket high" and it wouldn't solve my deer problem. Once today's monsoons subside, I'll probably start planting but at least for starters I will probably just go with...

    Seedling/tree tubes

Meh. I did the math on the corrugated drain field stuff and I'd be looking at about $5.12 for a 4 foot piece, plus labor to cut and whatnot. Back to the drawing board…

    Seedling/tree tubes

That sounds easy and probably economical but does enough light get in? Yeah, I'm looking at anywhere from $2.00 to $4.00 per tube. Another option would be to tag each seedling with florescent orange marker tape and then spray the seedling with that smelly deer repellent every few weeks or so...

    Seedling/tree tubes

Greetings! I'm not sure if this is the correct forum but I will post and if it gets moved, no problem. I have 100 Oak seedlings and I've been shopping for tree tubes and stakes. I didn't realize how expensive they are, especially compared to the seedlings themselves. I think I paid $0.50 per...

Need carburetor recommendation for Husky e359

She was a good ol’ saw that ran fine until one day she quit out in the woods. My local dealer diagnosed the carb failure (first failure was replaced under warranty). But with her age and lots of use over the years, I upgraded to a 550XP (which I love) instead of spending the money on a old saw...

Need carburetor recommendation for Husky e359

Grumble… I got the carburetor installed and the saw starts but it won't keep running unless I've got it at WOT. Sigh…

Need carburetor recommendation for Husky e359

Yeah, after I got the dang thing I googled Stens and their part number. Reviews were generally 4/5. Fingers crossed…

Need carburetor recommendation for Husky e359

Thanks Old Guy! I think that is what I will do. I had this planned for a weekend project to resurrect the old 359. She will remain semi-retired and will be used for cutting off stumps and freeing my pinched 550XP. :)

Need carburetor recommendation for Husky e359

Ugh. I fell for it. The way they worded it, I thought I was getting a Zama ("Carburetor for Zama C3-EL42") but it ended up being a Chinese POS (I guess). It's such a PITA to return and it's probably 10 bucks to ship it back. Anyone have anything good to say about the Stens?

    Thanks---just ordered the Zama! :)

Need carburetor recommendation for Husky e359

The old girl needs a carburetor and she will probably serve mostly as a tool for cutting off stumps and dirty work where I don't want to use my new 550 XP. I know I can't go wrong with OEM but can anyone make an economical suggestion that works? Just trying to avoid the counterfeit stuff on...

Best Husky or Echo for $600

I still have the old Husky 359 and I may pick up a new carburetor and see if I can get her going again. I see carburetors running anywhere from $15 for Chinese crap to $125 for OEM. The original carb was replaced years ago with a Nike (not sure of the spelling but that's what the shop called...

Looking for engine to replace Kohler SH265 on Dirty Hand Tools 25 ton log splitter

I've been running non-ethanol 91 octane since I found a place locally that sells it with no issues so far. I continue to run the gas out of the carburetor at the end of each splitting session. The Predator always starts on the first pull!

Portable Inverter Generator to Power Deep Submersible Well Pump

Grizz, thanks again. I did end up ordering the Generlink with a 14-50 sixty foot cable. I measured from my meter to where I think the generator will be situated in a worst-case scenario (thinking 3 feet of snow here) and 40 feet wasn't quite cutting it so I had to go with a 60 foot cable...

Portable Inverter Generator to Power Deep Submersible Well Pump

FINAL VERDICT: After more research and speaking with a contractor, I just ordered the Westinghouse WGen9500DF (non-inverter generator). It will be here next week. The contractor I spoke with says he can power a good part of his 2500sf home with a Coleman gas-powered portable generator with a...

Portable Inverter Generator to Power Deep Submersible Well Pump

KJ, that would do the trick. I'm running a Predator on my wood splitter after going through two Kohlers in 3 years. So far, the thing starts on the first pull and runs like a champ. Someone else had mentioned the big Honda. I searched nationwide for a Honda Engine for my splitter (I think it...

Portable Inverter Generator to Power Deep Submersible Well Pump

Here's the unit I was looking at: https://westinghouseoutdoorpower.com/collections/inverter-generators/products/igen4500df-inverter-generator-dual-fuel It has a three prong receptacle but the guy in the video was talking about four on his genny. The pump specs show it as a 2 wire unit?

Portable Inverter Generator to Power Deep Submersible Well Pump

I called my well driller and they still had my info from the well they drilled 13 years ago! My pump is 1 hp, 230 V and is a Goulds 7GS10422. Attached is a pic of the electrical feed running from the breaker box into the pump control from the left and then the 3 wire coming out of the right...
