    I Need Some Help Please

pyro, I use as MS250 that is about a year old. I cut mesquite which is hard wood and usually dirty. 250 is a good performer for it's size, but if money is not a factor, I would go for the 260 or if weight won't bother you a 361. I've run a 360 (361's forerunner) and it was a good saw but I...

    Firewood

Good to see some Texas boys cutting firewood. We use 3-4 cords of Mesquite through our insert. Gets pretty cool here (west of Abilene)

    Walker muffler 346xpg

SWE, If I was not sure about the setting,I would take it to my dealer or some one with a tach and let him adjust it or get a tach of my own. The dealer I use will put my saws on the tach and check them periodically and not charge anything. Good Luck- Kenny

    55 Rancher or 359 Huskey ?

New owner of MS290, performance tricks?

My previous post was a mistake. Got away before I finished. Anyway, I agree with Lobo only might add Many of the Stihl "Homeowner" saws are good. I've run a 018 and MS250 plenty hard and they run good and hold up. They're not built like pro saws of course, but ok for non pro users.

Favorite Chainsaws for Firewood Cutting and What is Your Woods Like?

My favorite of the saws I have now is my MS460. When I get to the smaller stuff I like my MS250. I cut Mesquite wood which is a hard wood.

    Ms 250

Grateful 11 Thanks for your reply. Glad to hear it's not just me getting old but they are pretty tight when cold. After mine warms up it starts good one pull and it's not a hard pull. I've found that on a cold start it should fire on 2or 3 pulls then go to half choke and start on 1or 2 more...

    Ms 250

I got a new 250 recently. I've run about 5 tanks through it. I had read some earlier posts on here about these saws and most were positive. I just wanted something to rest me some from the 460 that cost under $300.00. This saw really goes for its size. Only thing is its pretty tight for the...

    Hip surgery and chainsaws

Sounds good. I'm sure it felt good to get out in the wood lot. Hope you keep doing well. My father in law had one of those a few years back and it was a rough thing. Just don' t over do it. Good Luck BS

    I need a bigger saw. 357xp or 372xp.

Around here our Husqvarna dealers are Sears and Lowes. they don't have anything bigger than the 359 and it's hard to find one set up right. BS

Need help finding a firewood splitter

thompson 1600, Do you or your Dad have or have access to a tractor with hydraulics on it? If so, Northern Tool has a nice one that runs off a tractor for $449.99. I saw one at Tractor Supply recently also. If you don't have a tractor, this message should self-destruct . B.S.

    Snapper

Tony, From your recent studies you are saying that the Poulan Pro is as good as a Husqvarna? Like a Poulan 295 is basically the same as a Husky 345 only cheaper. I'm not disagreeing about it I just find it interesting. They sure favor just looking at the outside. What about a Poulan 405 being...
