    Porting

This is kind of a dumb question to some I'm sure. But what would the smallest 2-cycle engine you could port on? I've always wondered just never asked. Thanks.

    Redmax G5000 First Impressions

Haha I agree Sawtroll on the plastic clutch cover. I mean I have no problems using my old Homelites. I use my c-51 more than anything. Yes heavy...but ehh too much fun. But I'd much rather replace my 3800's 12 clutch cover than say...a 35$ clutch cover for my 281...just saying...

    Redmax G5000 First Impressions

The chain tensioner should NOT be plastic. Both of mine are metal of some sort. And the G5000's that come through my shop have metal ones. Something you should check into. I kind of don't understand the too much plastic comment...but to each his own. Part of why the saw is so light is...

Redmax G5000 AVS designation, 10W-30 Chain Oil

I love my 3800. It's a hell of a saw for what it is. Though you do have to open the muffler up. Everyone will tell you that the 621 is too heavy and is an older design. But really...they're just trying to find things wrong with it. Personally if you complain about a few ounces then you...

Redmax G5000 AVS designation, 10W-30 Chain Oil

I use 10W-30 in all my chainsaws because it's infinitely cheaper than the bar oil we can buy. I've never had a problem with it.

Considering openening repair shop, need advice.

We've been in business for 56 years...we started as a radiator repair shop, and golf kart repair, and slowly worked our way into the small engine business. It was a long process and it's just in the past 20 years that we keep business all year round. Even still the winters are long and not...

My Redmax saws...and a Homelite bar.

I don't push my product. Honestly if they don't like me being here they have the right to get rid of me. I have no problem with that. I'll sponsor them if they ask. I've actually been meaning to look into it, just haven't had time.

My Redmax saws...and a Homelite bar.

Redmax I'm a dealer. I can talk them up. Best way is just find ya a cheap one and buy it. The 621 is an older design and a bit bulky. But I don't worry about power to weight ratio and stuff. Personally I think it's a hell of a saw for the price. We sell them with a 20" bar for 475$. I...

My Redmax saws...and a Homelite bar.

I just got a Redmax 3800 finally. Opened up the muffler like Brad did a while back and she's a screamer. I haven't got her in good wood to do a proper tuning or test yet but....from the sounds of it I'm gonna have a Husky 51 for sale ;). Also I've been busy recently and haven't gotten around...

Redmax g5000 or Husqvarna 455 Rancher?

I'm a Redmax dealer. I can hook anyone up with parts for as long as they are available. I agree on the being afraid of finding parts. But they are forced to keep parts available for at least 7 years. If they stay popular I'm sure they will keep the parts coming. Not to mention the stock I...

Redmax g5000 or Husqvarna 455 Rancher?

The G5300 and GZ7000 are husky saws. And as far as buying one of the 455's. Compare the prices. Go to baileys and put a 20'' 455 in your cart. 414.95$. While it may be a good saw. I'd be willing to make a bet that a 5000 will out cut it. Not to mention you'd be saving yourself 100$ or so...

Redmax g5000 or Husqvarna 455 Rancher?

Redmax most certainly. I'm biased though. I've used the 5000 a little. I was impressed with the power. I can't compare it to a 455 as I've never used one. But I know the quality of the 5000 and I can't imagine the 455 being any better. Most of my Redmax experience is on the 621 3800 and...

Overwhelming urge to get CAD saws going.

C-series are pretty much always worth carb kit fuel line and a filter as long as they have compression. Most are even worth rings if the cylinder is good. But then again they're my favorite saw to run. So I guess I'm a little biased. Nothing sounds better than a C-91 and a C-51 running in...

    New member with a C72

Ahlborn equipment has some solid nose carlton bars for the old Homelite C-series. I have a 18, 21, 25, 30, and a 36. They were 25$ per bar when I bought mine no matter what size ya got. .063. But they're a tad on the heavy side. Welcome to the site and good luck on the saw. You'll be...

    Bar Refinishing

If you use that saw to cut any amount of wood the paints going to come off. I see no point in repainting a bar unless it's a show piece. But she sure does look good.

Ho.melite C-51, here we go again

It really just depends on if you like running older saws. Personally the older homelite c series along with the xp 1000, 1020, 1050 1110 2100 and so on are awesome running saws. I have all 3 of the C series and I love running them all. My C-91 that I restored runs a 36" bar and .404 full comp...

Anyone see/handle one of these yet?

Tanaka Tanaka and Hitachi are together now. So yes, you're looking at a Tanaka in green basically. We used to be a Tanaka dealer, now it's just to hard to get a hold of their stuff. Not to mention their saws are incredibly over priced.

Poulan S6000...All cleaned up. (Lots of pics)

Now for her blemishes. And also I was told by my uncle who is now passed away that it is in need of a crank. She turns over though. Not sure if he fixed it or what the deal is. But she has LOOOOOOTS of compression. Gonna see if I can get a good test on her tonight. I'll...
