    CAD is history

No more saws for me, at least for awhile.. There have been a few on the local cl's cheap that I didn't bother with, maybe somebody on here got the 346 for $75? My 5 saw plan lately has been 10532 262xp ms361 044 and 2171 and I don't see buying more saws helping me sell more wood or heat the...

    cutting poison ivy vines

I cut some wood a couple months ago that was crusted with pi, didn't have a single itch. A woodchip from the vine actually hit me in the eye and I didn't have any issues. I did shower with Castile soap after I was done and wore gloves, as well as get my clothes off and washed after.

Over 1/2 cord split in 6 minutes with a Fiskars

Ideally you want to drop the tree, buck it up, clear the brush and start splitting the rounds right where they lay. From there the split pieces get loaded on the truck cart or wheelbarrow and are taken to their final resting place before the stove. The more you handle everything the more time...

    Saw stolen

Sounds like you need a big mean dog. A 'delivery' person came to my house asking about a bogus address on my rd last Friday, pretty sure he was casin the house out and would have robbed me if I hadn't been home. I opened the door just enough for him to see my 130lb Akita and he was 'awful sorry...

my "new" farm boss 038 AVS

1 to 1 1/8 turn out on the h and l needles would be a good place to start. Adjust the throttle screw from there. If the saw won't run properly then something is wrong, whether bad lines, gummed fuel filter, stiff carb diaphragms, obstruction in the needles, torn or rotted intake boot, crank seals...

    Gotta love Craigslist......

Haven't really run a saw lately for the same reason. Admittedly my woods has plenty of really ugly stumps. I'll take you up on that when I get things organized and under control up here.

    Gotta love Craigslist......

Other than reading a book about it I have no actual training. The gol classes are something that always sounded interesting. I'd definitely appreciate some hands on demonstration if nothing else.

    Gotta love Craigslist......

Haven't been to one in awhile so I couldn't tell you. I could almost have a small one up here at some point if I get a load of logs, although there's alot of work that needs to be done to get to that point. I've really been wanting to learn more about falling from a pro or at least someone who...

    Gotta love Craigslist......

 I bought the 044 in Harford, out 79e of Ithaca and north on some other rt. I've had it for more than a year. Don's log n chain has decent deals on used saws sometimes. I'm pretty much done buying saws for awhile at least so have at it. I've thought about getting a dump and trying to...

    Gotta love Craigslist......

I had a good laugh over that 066 myself. My take is if he likes his saw that much he ought to just keep it. The Elmira corning and Ithaca craigslist's are a real buyer's market for saws that's for sure. A $250 creampuff 044, $300 vgc 2171, $80 dolly 116si in exc cond, real nice 034 for $120...

    Stihl FS 130 brushcuter ??

We run wp synthetic in the 4 mixes at work and they run great. Don't run #### oil and don't mix richer than 45 to 1 on a regular basis or you'll trash your $400 unit. Run it full throttle. The 130r at work had an issue with the gas line coming unplugged from the tank when we got it, 5 min fix...

    newbie to sharpening

:agree2: The husky combi gauge is by far the best on the market. If you want a sharp chain then get one, plain and simple. Other than a fop anything else is a waste of money. The Stihl sharpening kit is worthless, as are any fixed rate depth gauges.

    Stihl FS250 carb adjustment

Run straight up 50 to 1. Extra oil ends up leaning it out because the oil takes the place of gas so there's a leaner fuel/airl ratio. I run a fs250r for a living, the 4 mixes are great too but the 250 is the #### plain and simple.
