Reason no. 1 why not to fiddle with your engine.

    Oven temp swings

You can’t rely on those $6.98 oven thermometers they sell at supermarkets to measure accurately. I bought a new gas oven a year ago. Using a cheapo thermometer, it looked like it was running at least 25 degrees cooler than what the dial said. A service person dropped by and put his very...

    Sasquatch Sauce Recipe

OMG! Looks totally amazing. I definitely suggest wearing thin nitrile gloves when handling the peppers.

    Some machines shouldn’t be modded

    Chainsaw Pull Cord Not Pulling

Oh, ok. The only piped I know is if I smoke some grass.

    Chainsaw Pull Cord Not Pulling

Exactly what happened? Thank god you were wearing chaps. Does piped mean modded to limit?

I’ll wait to be sad until that happens. It’s only be since the 12th of never that the saw’s been in a shop. Might be time.

Alright already. If it helps to lessen any negative feelings, I plead guilty! To whatever. Not sure what. But to whatever. The saw appears to be running ok now even when the spark plug is tight. Bob Hedgecutter probably guessed what happened.

    Chainsaw Pull Cord Not Pulling

Let’s not assume anything about my knowledge of chainsaws.

    Chainsaw Pull Cord Not Pulling

It definitely shows I need to get it fixed by an experienced small engine person.

    Chainsaw Pull Cord Not Pulling

I should definitely take it to a shop. Thanks. During summers in college I worked for the U.S. Forest Service fighting forest fires. Met and worked with lots of pros and rednecks.

    Chainsaw Pull Cord Not Pulling

I don’t see anything in that post that hints of attitude. It was an unabashed thank you. The Wheaties reference was in response to someone saying I wasn’t pulling the cord hard enough and needed to eat some Wheaties. Could well have been true. To everyone who helped me, I am sincerely and...

    Chainsaw Pull Cord Not Pulling

Not everything is simple to everyone. Because some things should be simple doesn’t mean they always are. Like lots of people, I know how to operate a saw, but know little about diagnosing mechanical problems. I think it’s nothing short of fantastic that you and many here are good at it. I know...

Meaning that it’s just a mystery?

    Chainsaw Pull Cord Not Pulling

Will do. Before going out to buy Wheaties and Geritol I tried backing out the plug a hair or two more. Cord pulled out and it started! As we say at FedEx, I absolutely, positively could not have solved this without the help from everyone here. THANK YOU!

    Did not.

    Chainsaw Pull Cord Not Pulling

With the cord assembly off I was able to move the flywheel all around with some effort. The removed cord assembly itself moves freely. But only with the spark plug removed. I also backed the plug out one turn, but I’m not experienced enough to tell if it was hitting the piston.

    Chainsaw Pull Cord Not Pulling

Ah! I don’t miss a thing. It’s just very puzzling that it started well recently, hasn’t been operated since, then the cord doesn’t pull. But I know that anything can happen.
