    The science behind burning wood

You are applying a nuclear physics equation to a simple chemical oxidation reduction reaction (exothermic one at that). Keep is simple....easier that way and it all balances out in the end...

    Help with new 361 please!

Not one person that I seen brought up the obvious....dump that CRAP out of the gas tank and get some fresh fuel in it. Maybe I missed it... WHY would you put sea foam, "new engine in a can", "new carb in a can" or whatever witches brew in a gas tank that has premix, stabil and who knows how...

    OT - 2 Stroke Mowers?

If you look on flea bay there are still quite a few of the 2 smoke lawn boys out there for pretty decent prices in good shape. I paid more than I wanted to for the one I have, but I love it! I have one at my mom's that my grandparents bought new in the early 70's that I use almost every...

I had NEVER had a problem with it till last year.... I was power washing all ov our quads after a run down by the local river...WOW!!! COVERED in it!!!! Took about 2-4 weeks before I got everthing cleaned up. Now...seems like I get it very easy. Last weekend I was hard after a squirell in...

Vintage Saw pics from Northern Minnesota

No...he didn't. It was right after Grandma's opened up down by the harbor entrance...quite the scene...NOT a sound I ever want to hear again...a body hitting concrete.

Vintage Saw pics from Northern Minnesota

Actually the Anderson was behind (following out of Two Harbors) the Fitz...they didn't turn around and leave harbor. They were the first ones to know the Fitz had probably gone down as they lost radar contact with her. When I was a kid, I watched a guy fall from that bridge...from 70ft up...

Ooops. I think I might have overloaded my truck!

I scaled out my Toyota Tacoma once...with 1850# worth of wood in the bed...and it wasn't on the bump stops yet...and I have had it HARD on the bump stops before, so I figured over 2K# worth of seasoned oak, plus a trailer behind it....huh...wonder why my leaf springs broke....

That is what our local landfill does....TONS of wood just going to waste.....

    MS361 Acrtic

Wow...that is impressive! My hands will typically get cold like yours and then warm up...unless I'm riding sled...but since I brought that up...like handwarmers on a sled, won't those grip heaters just hasten your gloves getting wet? Just wondering....just can't imagine a saw with heated...

    MS361 Acrtic

If that diesel is still running....it isn't cold enough to need heated grips. :spam: Awesome looking tires! What kind of life do you get out of them? I suspect gravel roads would play heck with the tire life.

Coldest night of the season so far for us....

To say I was less than pleased would be an understatement....

Coldest night of the season so far for us....

In our area we had around 10-12 or PERFECT ice on our lake...not a bubble in it. Then we got the snow over Christmas and it did some flooding. A week ago I took the snow blower out before the REAL cold hit and blew the snow off the ice so it would thicken up. Then some jerk drilled a couple...

Good juvenile humor at the local paper's expense

Gotta love that one! For sure if it is your local paper! Too bad for me, I let my subscription run out about a week before this came out. Couldn't stand the liberal crap published in a supposed "republican" paper.

Coldest night of the season so far for us....

Friday night was -33 for us. Sat was a high of -10 and I was outside for about 6 hours wearing just a long sleeved t-shirt, sweatshirt, jeans and my chaps...cutting wood....and sweating!

Thank you to all and Merry Christmas to me

I bought some chaps last year because of this site....I have always worn earplugs, steel toe and safety glasses at the least. The chaps would be wore "most" of the time....until I was doing some cutting on thanksgiving weekend this year...doing some brushing etc.... No chaps and I let the...

    Investment vs Payback

Currently I only heat my garage. Furnace $300 used Chimney ~$300 Garage is about 40 degrees warmer on average then last year (propane heat as needed). To keep the garage heated it cost me about ~$400 a year so the heating equipment should pay back in 2 years tops...

    One good thing about snowstorms...

Lucky you don't live in idiotville like I do. Two years ago, I went down a house and blew out the neighbors driveway...he didn't have a snow blower at the time. Since it was a forecasted south wind/more snow and his place is open to the south, I blew it back off the driveway about 3 ft. The...
