At 25 degrees outside and the wind howling, my house is 82 degrees. Any less and the wife complains. I love the OWB! Third year for it. Chap

    Another 22 ton Huskee question

Just got my Huskee back from the repai shop. It is only two years old and mine started doing the same thing. Thank god I purchased the extended warranty. The handle hydraulics went bad and a new one had to be ordered. I understand there was a recall on some Huskee's because of this, but not sure.

    Chain for Stihl MS460

This is basically a new chain. I filed it one time. And yes, it was filed right by hand and the chain is sharp. Oh by the way, I have been hand filing for over 25 years.

    Chain for Stihl MS460

I have a Stihl MS460 with a 20 inch bar and stock chain. From all ypu professionals out there, what chain should I be using to quarter up some very large oak rounds. The stock chain does cut but is slow and throws very fine sawdust. I want to order chain from Baileys. The saw is almost new and...

Anyone else sick of burning wood?

Well, lets see? Do I love burning wood? I had surgery on my right shoulder last year, didn't help. Surgery scheduled again for January 13, 2010. Everytime I fill the OWB tears come to my eyes from the pain in my shoulder and my back. I then go to the garage just to watch the smoke. Will I...

    What rope to get?

Gentlemen, I have a fairly large tree that I need to cut down and is probably 40" across the base. I'm gonna have to pull it a little bit to get it where I want it to go. It has a slight lean the wrong way. What type of rope should I use to help pull this thing over. Was hoping to get it at...

An old sawmill/equipment in the mountains of Pennsylvania

The closet town is Newton Hamilton, about six miles away. I have property along the Juniata River where we love to go and get away. I just love old sawmill stuff. The mill itself was made by Frick Company located in Waynesboro, Pa. I met the owner of the mill who purchased it originally and is...

    Pro Mac 10-10S

I just checked out a Pro Mac 10-10S yesterday. This saw looks almost new and the old man that has it said it has the original bar and chain. The saw starts right up and everything works. Anyone know what CC saw this is, how old it is, and about how much it is worth? Thanks for all your help...

    Firewood drying time

Here is some good information published by the US Forest Products Laboratory. Regarding Seasoning of Wood Freshly cut wood has a very high moisture content. As much as 60% (or more) of the weight of a tree is water. At least some of this water must be removed before trying to use it as a...

    So now that it's July.......

Probably sometime in September. I have about 15 cords split and stacked and another ten cord to split. A local tree service called last night and asked me to go to two job sites to pick up Honey locust and the second place to pick up some walnut. I just don't know how good walnut burns. Bryan

Oil leak on my Case 1845C

I took out the operator's seat on my 1845C just to see what was under there. What I found is oil on what I think you would call the floor pan. If you lean into the machine and look down at the floor pan, under the front pedal there is a cluster of hoses on the left front of the machine and I...
