I have a 550xp that is muffler modded. I like the size and power. I don't care too much for the warm starting and slight bog of idle.
At this time I am not interested in getting them ported. I would be open to a muffler mod on either 261.
Thinking about selling it and trying a 261 or 261 cm...
Handle and Start a Dolmar 421 and you will see they start and run as good or better than anything. They have to be the easiest starting saw out there. You will also see they are built very solid.
No, I was told a clamp to the cooper pipe at exchanger with copper wire to bonding lug at pump would do...Let me know if you find evidence of the contrary.

I have a stainless shell and tube exchanger. It has copper connections for the boiler side. I bonded that to the the pump where the bond wire for the pool is connected.
Had a Dolmar 420 with a muffler mod. Sold it and bought a Husky 550xp.
The 550xp is almost as light as the 420. The 550xp has a longer space between the rear grip and the front handle.
550xp has more power.
Dolmar 420/421 are the easiest starting saws you could ever imagine. They run smooth...
They were the best starting saws ever, almost always 2 pull cold starts. Warm starts were quick 6" pull of the rope. I would do it all the time to show people.
The Autotune 550xp just does not like to cold start at all, 15+ pulls at times just to get a pop.

I agree with the 20" bar. Nice length to carry when walking. That is what I run on my 7900, works fine for large trees. Have cut 30"+ oaks. Just have to plan a little.

5105 because I sold a like new 5105 to keep a 550xp and I am concerned about durability of the 550xp. Still wonder what the hell I was thinking. Dolmars are tough as hell, lets see what you can get out of it.:chainsaw:

Would you want your old job back if it stayed here but payed China wages?
Smoke and mirrors blaming unions and turning middle class against each other.
