What Knot Do You Use For Pulling Trees Over?

No. Protecting a rope is not over thinking . And, I didn't say it would,I said it could. OTOH,Tie a running bowline and pull the dam tree over. Simple as that. If you don't trust one line, use 2.

What Knot Do You Use For Pulling Trees Over?

One negative to using this method is the possibility of damaging the rope soon impact. If terminated at the top ,the most that could get damaged from the tree smashing it into the ground would be 5to 10 ft. The same damage would occur apr. midline with the base tie off.

Only guy in town using ppe

My first reaction is to agree with you,but there is a guy a few towns away who advertises with that same slogan. He seems to do pretty well. I've never bid against him ,as far as I know. I think it is a combination of marketing scheme and dishonesty. I'm thinking the devil is in the small...

Whats the worst thing you've lost or left at a job site?

But seriously, the item we seem to lose the most is pitchforks for some reason. And on occasion,,, my azz.

    whadja do today?

I let my clients know beforehand and change my voicemail to reflect my absence as well. I look at it from the old story of " if you let something go and it doesn't come back, it wasn't really yours to begin with".

    whadja do today?

I had the wife take me to the yard to get the bucket one day and she backed her nice Lil shiny 2012 Sonata into the tongue of a landscape trailer. I guess I don't have to tell you who came out the winner in that little battle. BTW : It turns out it was MY fault for...

HELP ON CHANGING A HYDRAULIC LINE

Some of those lines have a lot of outside coating on them. If it's just a small wear spot, try to find out where it's rubbing and try to reroute or cover it better. But if you're sure it is going to fail, take it off and head to a hydro shop. They will be able to match it up and for probably 1/2...

Thoughts on towing a vermeer sc252? Yea or nea

A small ,single axle trailer works fine. Just be sure it had at least 14 or 15 in wheels. Can usually get a 5x8. Or 5x9 for around $750 brand new.

    Forestry Equipment Auctions

I thought of going the auction route for a few things, but in the end decided against it. Too much of a gamble for this guys hard earned doe. There's a reason dealers go there, but OTOH ,they can afford a lemon here and there. Worse case for them, they run it back thru the same auction a month later.

Thoughts on towing a vermeer sc252? Yea or nea

I'm pretty sure the older ones had s coupler on them to tow them ,but I think they discontinued them for instability reasons and they went thru bearings like crazy.

    Blunders and freaky stuff

Yep. Seen the top side of the dolly bop more than one on the noggin, self included. Usually happens when flopping PCs onto the lip. Not so much with the big ball cart type we have now,bit the older, smaller ones ,quite a few times.

    whadja do today?

Yep.broke my upper arm back in the mid 80s. Humerus they called it. I didn't find one dam bit funny. Cut it off myself (the cast)with a bread knife. But then went to the doc cuz I freaked the hell out seeing it skinny as a toothpick. That was normal they assured me but said the xray showed it...
