Siberian elm. I have taken 3 down in the last year around the house. Cut it into rounds soon and it may be good to go by 2015! Very wet wood in my experiences.

I don't think you would be disappointed, Jim. Centerline to my tv is roughly 7' off the floor. The couch is 12' from the tv.

I wasn't sure about it when I was doing the build, my wife insisted it went there. Now that its done, it really doesn't make a difference that I can see (feel). It is actually better, I think, while watching in my preferred position, horizontal on the couch! :givebeer:
