What are your thoughts on this vid?

I put my previous GSP down at home. It sucks, but I've decided that from now on it will be done at home. I've taken a lot of dogs to the vet over the years. Its easier on me, but the dog always hates the trip. I decided that after so many great years of hunting and/or companionship, the...

    Farmertec

Never used farmertec's website. If I'm getting Chinese parts, I go through Hyway.

Help identifying a tree in my yard that has to be removed, is it valuable?

I'm not sure that leaf came from that tree. The leaf looks like some kind of red oak variant, but the bark on the tree does not. As far as the value of the tree, it's not worth anything for lumber for the reasons already mentioned. With the brief description you gave, I'd say $3k is a pretty...

Boo-hoo, you're poor thread got side tracked for a whole 4 posts. Poor thing.

    Build & Save the tree?

This is just my opinion, but I'd move before I bull dozed my (otherwise perfectly fine) existing house to build something bigger, even more so if I was confident I could sell my existing place for a good price without having to wait forever. I'd put my time resources into finding the property...

I am new here and to chainsaws

Ideally, before grinding the stump you could have drilled it full of holes and poured Epson salt in them to kill the stump. Now that the stump is gone, you don't really have a centralized target to attack so you're stuck with their gorilla warfare attacks. As others have said, you can just...

Anyone use an F450 as a chipper truck?

FWIW, the limiting factor on payload SHOULD be the rear axle, not the frame.

Looking to add a pro ~70 cc saw to the fold so that my son and I can both run saws

Personally, I would prioritize the 260/261 over a 90cc saw since you already have a 462. A 90cc saw will be noticeably stronger pulling that 32" bar, but the 70cc saw shouldn't really struggle with it. Conversely, a 70 or 90 cc power head with a 32" bar and chain tends to get heavy pretty...

Looking to add a pro ~70 cc saw to the fold so that my son and I can both run saws

Hmm... Crickets... I don't know anything about the 650. I have an 064 that needs rebuilt. It's been a good saw. I bought it used for $375 a little over 10 years ago. I normally ran it with a 28" bar. On the 064, I think you had to re-drill and tap the mounting bolts for the cylinder to...

    Chinese Saw no throttle lock

Totally agree. It really only works out if they already have power tools or lawn tools that utilize the batteries meaning that they already have the battery and some kind of charger. As far as 40v saws, if they are doing any serious cutting, I'd want at least a Stihl 261 or comparable and...

    Chinese Saw no throttle lock

You might point them towards a battery powered saw that uses the same batteries as their favorite brand of battery powered lawn equipment or tools. No carbs to get messed up from ethanol, no risk of straight gassing it (unless they try to use gas instead of bar oil), no plugs to fowl, no intake...

Opinions on Forester chain compared to Stihl

I've taken issue with multiple PF reviews, BUT (just as you said) I knew I would take issue as soon as he described how he was going to conduct the evaluation and I really appreciate that. The most recent review that didn't really make sense was his evaluation of bar oil. His testing procedure...

Opinions on Forester chain compared to Stihl

I like the PF reviews, but I also pay attention to how he does the testing. Sometimes the testing is relevant. Sometimes it is not. In the case of most of his chainsaw related reviews, they don't have much merit.

How big of a bar can it pull?

Tangent. A friend of mine has a 14k dump trailer that he uses to transport his tractor and haul some firewood. He pulls it with a Tundra with no issues BUT he knows how much weight he can put in it and drives like he has some sense. He frequently loans his trailer out to friends and always...

    Stihl 064...What's it worth

Several years ago I gave $375 for my 064 with a 28" Oregon bar and .404 chain. Its sitting in my shop now needing a new top end. When it started having problems, I bought a G660 power head for $321. The G660 is still running strong so I haven't had much motivation to get the 064 back up and...

    Seasoned Firewood Storage

Termites, and even ants shouldn't be a problem if you're buying the firewood already cut and seasoned. The bigger issue would be anything that is living just under the bark. If you're spraying for bugs, you should be fine. If you really don't want to just stack in in the garage, you can...
