Echo CS-590 timberwolf vs. Echo CS-600P

That is a sick echo!!! As in sick - good!

    Three saws

For the dolmar fans out there, how about a 420/421, 6100, 7900/7901/7910. . .not too much out there anywhere that combo couldn't handle.

    New Dolmar PS-6100!!

Sounds good! I may have to check one out soon, it would fit nicely between my 420 and my 7900. . .

    New Dolmar PS-6100!!

I am also very curious, how are you liking the new saw? What's your opinion of things like airfiltration, av, controls, handling, etc?

    Woodland Pro 30RC Issue

I've also run a bunch of woodlandpro chain, and never noticed this issue either. . . and I've never had a loop that cut crooked out of the box either.

Husky 455; Jonesred CS 2255; or Stihl 271

For that size hardwood and a 20" b&c combo, I'd want a 60cc plus saw. Given the saws listed, the 2255 seems to be the best bet. However, you really should give the husky 555/ jred 2258 a look. Either of those two saws would be much happier pulling a 20" b&c in hardwood, and still be somewhat...

Wondering if anyone knows some good Arborist training schools?

Paul Smith's College is the only one i know for sure actually has a climbing/training program, which includes classwork and actual time climbing, and ends in an associate's degree. That program would prepare you very well for the ISA exam, and for starting out climbing for a living. Having...

    372xp x-torq port or not

Anyone done a ported 372 xpw vs. Cylinder, vs. Xp? Curious how different they would be if all are ported.

Help me pick a 40 cc saw

Another +1 for the dolmar 420/421. I have a MM'd 420, and it will really surprise you for a 42ish cc saw. . .really strong, and not bad handling.

    New guy looking for advice

I fully plan on having insurance, just trying to find out more about it, like how much coverage to have and what the premiums might be like. Right now I work for a large company (which I don't realky like), but am looking to go out on my own.

    New guy looking for advice

As someone looking to start a full time tree business, I am watching this thread with interest. One thing I'm curious about is insurance. I've been doing "side work" off the books for a few years now, but want to get insured if I go full time. Those of you with businesses, how long before...

Stihl chain VS oregon and others.

Hard to go wrong with either still, Oregon, or Carlton/woodland pro. I've run all three, very little if any difference in cut speed between them (assuming all properly filed). I run mostly carlton on my personal saws. . .but I keep a loop or two of stihl ps3 for my TH saw (3/8lp).

Lol! My wife love it when I smell like "twin stroke and wood chips." (Her exact words ; ) )

    Yessir, class if '09 :)

    Dolmar...

In that case, the 421 should serve you well and last a long time. They sure are a LOT of saw for the money!

Tilton Equipment no longer Distributing Jonsered Equipment

Lol, me either! We ran 16" b&c's on our whole fleet of jonnies for our logging projects at forestry school. . .mostly 2152's, also some older 2054's, and a couple of 2153's and 2156's. . .all 16" .325 pitch. And one 2095 for on the landing and the CSM. Was a lot of fun!
