    Stihl MS201T Replacing the 200T

Have you ever ran a 200T or the rear handle version? I didn't think the T was all that easy to handle with the poor handle spacing, but it was designed mainly for one hand use. Too close together for me and I quickly found out how kick back prone they are. The T is about as light as they get...

    stihl 041 farm boss help

Use some penetrating oil on it. When pulling rap on it gently with a small deadblow. The only thing holding you back is the shaft key. You could use a heat gun too. I just use an appropriate three jaw puller and treat it like a fine woman......you can take that for what it's worth, just...

    Solo and Dolmar

I just had the same conversation saturday with my local Dolmar dealer. I asked what similarities existed between the 681 and 7900, his reply was that little interchanged between the two. He said the original agreement was to benefit Dolmar with Solo's backpack blower and sprayer technology and...

    041 BarOil in Engine

If you can still get the rebuild kit from Stihl you will be money ahead to replace everything in the oiler, not much too it. I think the complete kit was less than 20$. Pulling the oiler was the most problematic espically after being in the same spot for over thirty years. A screw out of your...

    Stihl 041

Now all you need is an Electronic with Quickstop and I'd really be jealous! And I don't even care about those other Stihls in the picture or that Huskamahoooza thing on the floor!

    Stihl 041

I'd rep you, but I'm out! It's stunning all the variations of 041 there were. Just the little stuff like the front hand guard, I've counted 4. I have two in the barn, one my Dad bought new in 1977 and another recently picked up at a dealer. Both saws are third gens, but the 77 has a different...

    Stihl 041

I guess I don't follow Bob. There were many versions of the 041. The Farm Boss was just a fancy marketing name. The first gen 041 was just a 040. The second gen 041 had some updates mechanically and also brought AV, Electronic and Quickstop versions with the embossed covers. The third gen...

    Go .404, or stay .375??

I've had the same thought, but .404 to 3/8 instead. It's your wallet though, run what you want. In my situation bars and chains under 36'' in .404 are harder to come by and are very limited in different sizes. 36'' and over is a different story. 3/8 gives more options for me, but I already have...

    I need a pro's help with 015 stihl AV

I had much the same issue, points were shot. I replaced coil, points and condensor all in one shot. Now the carb needs gone through so if ain't one thing it's another. Although, I will say this, for a 30+ year old saw this stuff is small potatoes.

    solo/dolmar

Yes, but the added cost of the aftermarket set up negates any cost savings that the Dolmar has over a comparable Stihl or Husqvarna. The 681 has much better air filtration at no extra cost. Future parts availability may be an issue though....

    Solo 651 vs 651SP

There is a Solo/Dolmar dealer in SW. MI. Sherwood, MI to be exact. If anyone is interested I can give business name, address and ph.#. I have his business card, got to demo a 681 at the Lagrange Co. Steam and Gas Show this summer. I also got to keep a PS 7900 for a day and cut a load of wood, I...

    Family Farm and Home stores.

I stopped at the branch in Coldwater MI, last weekend to see what they had for prices on their Simpson Duravent stove pipe. Toward the back of the store I noticed a large Husqvarna banner hanging from the ceiling and decided to see what they had, sure it was going to be the same stocked saws as...

    Rule 13

Aside from the sponsers, none of us have to pay to be here. There is good and bad to that. I was a long time member of turbodieselregister.com, but found the membership fee to be more than I wanted to pay and at the same time I was a member of dieseltruckresource.com and got the same basic info...

    Advice on my Stihl 041Av

I picked up starter pawls last year. I don't have any experience with the friction type, but the plastic pawls lasted from '77 to 2009. Not too shabby. Oiler parts were supposed to be NLA as of this year, including whole oiler assemblies. I checked the price of whole units last year and damn...

If the price is right they can call it whatever the #### they want......Just my 2 pesos. JJuday P.S. I have found over the years that if you discount someone based simply on their grasp of the english language you will be passing some damn good folks by, just a thought.

    Nordi stove

Just bought a stove tonight. It says Nordi above the doors. It needs some TLC and some work on the baffle plate but other than that it looks good to go. Seems to be well built. Anyone ever hear of this brand or have one? I did a search here and on google and got nothing. I did see one on the...
