    Bar oil residue and mosquitoes?

The oil like sheen could be tannins from rotting leaves. Drop of Joy dish detergent will sink oil (do not let the Coast Guard see it :))

thats it mother nature is a B

I have a friend who burns today what he cuts this morning and we bust his butt each year about it. WELL this "spring" I have had to buy a grapple load of "green" because I did not have time to prepare for our 8 months of winter. Part that sucks is I have 100 acres and the equipment to harvest my...

I said sorry, do I owe more?

One time I was picking up wood on my property that the power line choppers had left for me and along came a pickup, they stopped to inform me I was taking their wood. Asked if they owned the rights to the land and their reply was they saw it first and any wood on the side of the road was there...

    Owb question

I have a wood doctor 10000 and when it is burning you can not see any smoke. We heat 2 buildings with it and it has been online for 5 years. Maintenance is every couple of weeks shoveling a bucket of ash. Wood doctor is no longer but I would buy a boiler designed like this again. But do the...

    Thinking about buying a skidsteer

I have a 943 bobcat and is great for wood as long as the ground is hard and level. Seen guys not familiar with its center of gravity tip them over, so practice with a full load to get use to the tipping, Mine is good size and rated for 2400 lbs lifting capacity but will do much more. Debated...

Cut with a 455 husky(we have several of the husky, they take a heck a beating and keep going strong) Pine is about half the btu output than oak but when it is free and delivered that is...

Should I Buy This or Not?

Make sure your truck is the gvw or dmv will have a field day. Probably powered by a pto that is mounted off larger trucks transmission. Truck that is to light will have no payload with the weight of the body. I have built a couple of flatbeds so plan well because now DMV will bust you for...

    pickup flatbed questions

Check the gauge of the steel because I bought an "inexpensive one" instead of building one and now I am in construction stage of a new one. I got 6 years and the underneath is rotted out, I washed it all the time to prevent salt damage to no avail. Right now a bag grain is about all I dare to...

    What Moisture % is acceptable??

Bought a Lowes meter for fun and after checking a half dozen pieces at less than 20 % meter still kept burning the wood, the meter went into a box. Buddy of mine decided selling wood is a (quick way to lose money) quick way to get rich, sold his first cord and got the call "It will not burn"...
