I'm just a dumb ass timber faller......new ones do seem to be less prone to cracking though.....cracks seem to occur with age and vibes.....don't cost much, less than a new saw......if my dumb ass timber faller experience serves me correctly.

Good saw.....I'd replace the intake block right off the bat so you know you're good to go, regardless of what the current one looks like. They are heavy. Pretty much a cinder block with handles, but you won't be wanting for stump power.

What you guys using for 2 stroke oil? -A fallers perspective-

It's about -40F right now with the wind. My beer froze solid on the porch. Life's tough... Glad to hear you've got lots of work, break downs are a *****, but it's just the way it goes no matter what kind of show you run, from what I've seen. Give the Dominator a shot, 3 of the cutters I work...

What you guys using for 2 stroke oil? -A fallers perspective-

Been running Amsoil Dominator for the past year or so. No issues. Somewhere around $32 a gallon. Saws run great, no issues with fumes. 50:1......miracle my saws haven't all grenaded yet, according to the cs forum experts lol. Hope you're busy and all's well Bob - Sam

    562xp Hesitation Question

So 1 minute WOT at no load is the correct procedure to reset the computer? Seems a bit hard on things... My new one has this issue, unfortunately my Husky guru is home in bed with a wicked cold......So here I am.

I guess there's just a happy medium.....I've learned to let less than perfect go...If I know it will do the job. A 2 footer is a different deal than a 5 footer. That said, sometimes a kerf face till the weight shifts can make quick work of a stick. My point being, don't agonize over...

In all honesty, no one really gives a **** what your cuts look like (except OSHA), as long as the ****ing tree is on the ****ing ground- in the lead. Avoid fiber pull. And don't make bad logs. I try to be perfect, but that's not the end game...wood on the ground in front of yarders is (and I...

    372xpw vs. 365

I guess it's not a true full-wrap, it's a 3/4 like stihl does. That said, I really like it, especially since it's heated. It does feel like a toy. Mine was ported by some local guys who do all my stuff....I think about 60 years experience between the father and son. All and all, I'm really...

    372xpw vs. 365

I usually keep the oiler turned down a bit on my xpw with a 28". No problems in soft wood. I actually just ditched my 390 in favor of a ported 562. The 562 plus the xpw do anything I need. I'm still a firm believer that a damn sharp chain is the true replacement for displacement.

You can buy a 365 any time you like.....XPW's are a little tough to come by. Price sounds good to me, if it is as advertised.

The working man, and chainsaw thread!!!!!!!!!

Haven't posted here in a bit, hope you all are well and Happy Thanksgiving. Some pics from a couple weeks back. Saw pard finishing off a decent larch, pretty damn good for 60 years old. A rotten red fir that came back to the lead with a siswheel. That root did it's job. Cleaned up nicely...

Saw pard finishing off a decent larch Wednesday. Pretty damn good at age 60. A sisweel saved my ass on this rotten red fir. Cleaned up about 20 feet out. Wanted down the hill and over a property line real bad. Pulled right into the lead with some help from that root. 50K+ feet/acre on...
