My current employer refuses to pay workers comp. I say fine at least pay for health insurance in case I get hurt, well cant have that either. Seems that when you cant afford to pay workers comp, taxes, or insurance you cant afford to provided insurance, holiday pay or vacation time. I wonder...

Large Pine Tree - SUGGESTIONS??? (merged)

Come on now Steve!! A half hour might be an exageration, might be 40 minutes. You never know when the ground help will slow you down. If you lolly gag then it may take and hour. I wouldnt turn that chaing saw until I hit the top where I would shut it off to put my climbing line around and blow...

Large Pine Tree - SUGGESTIONS??? (merged)

I guess they didn't teach you how to spell "write" in college. That tree looks pretty simple to me. I would just hook up there and limb it up as I go. They about 15 or 20 fee from the top I would notch that out into the yard. Then I would come down 4 or 5 feet since you dont have seasoned...

    Lookinf for some ADVICE!

I would have to say get a truck and chipper. Get something comparable to the work you are doing. If you are chipping big wood, large limbs then get the machine to handle the work. I wouldn't over spend. Grow your company as you grow. Everyone's a decent climber, heck even I'm a decent climber...

how do you make any money doing that? What about the time getting from hanger to hanger. You need to do like 60 hangers a day to make any money or the same sorta money you would doing normal work.

Now that can't all be true. Lets start with comes to work with a smile. He doesn't have any teeth. So lets say he comes with a grin. Gets it done safely. Now this must only apply to personal safety and not property. I guess there is something yet for Pat to learn from me. Pats' prices have...

    spikes kicked out yesterday

I may be going out on a limb here but maybe you should hire a professional. You can find them pretty cheap @ about 500 a day and up. They get paid to put their ass on the line.:bang:
