Alright guys, meet the new love of my life!

I'm glad my ol' 038 went to a good home and to someone who will appreciate her. That was the first saw I ever bought. I was a junior in high school at the time. I used Dads XL 12 to log enough white and red oak off the farm to pay for it. It was then used to cut firewood for the family. A few...

Cleaning Saws without a Huge Mess

Oh, ok.. Yeah, blowing oily sawdust everywhere inside would be very messy. Don't know what to tell ya except do it outside if you can find a way..... That's what I do and it still makes a mess...

    question on 372xpw

My experience with new saw purchase... Four different Stihl dealers and with every saw I've ever bought through the years, dealer installs whatever bar/chain combo you request, fuels and oils saw, starts and warms while checking for oiling and then tachs at WOT. Carb adjustment are made most...

    is this a good deal???????

From what you say here, I'd reply to that 361 ad and request some pics. If they look good, jump on that saw. I have pro saws in the 70, 60 and 50cc range. For firewood, 60cc in the one that gets picked. It's hard to beat all the qualities of the MS361/362 for firewood havesting.... Some say...

    is this a good deal???????

Not sure on power, but that's an old Stihl probably 40 plus years old. No anti-vibe and slow. Unless your looking as a collector, I'd stay away from that one. That 028 is as old as I would go when looking for a normal use saw.

    chimney puffing

I agree 100% Mine does the same thing. Lack of oxygen. Only does it when new wood has been added and the initial burn is taking place. Open up the secondary damper a few notches takes care of the problem for me. I don't have blowers and such.

    is this a good deal???????

No, just email them and ask for a phone number. From my Craig's experience the scams are played on the sellers, not the buyers.

New Landowner, need guidance on chainsaw purchase

Exactly right. Depending on the species of tree and sizes, it would take me 3 or 4 times longer to remove a stump than the whole tree. Leverage is your friend... This obviously equates to dollar signs for you the customer...
