    Mods for MS 170?

The muffler mod will help it a bit, BUT ( you knew it was coming!) A Carb change will be in order. No worries though it's a cheap upgrade. I got mine for less than $15 on fleabay. Click this link to some of my problems I had. There's other links in there as well...

Logging pictures of my father and me

It's an even nicer tractor when you stop to consider the fact that it's built by, LAMBORGHINI! Yes, That Lamborghini! If I remember correctly that's where they got their start, before the days of making super exotic cars. Check it out here...

    Thinking of a 90cc saw

I'll vote for the 660. Just cuz I got's one. Don't use it much (kinda thankfully) But when I need a serious saw for some serious wood, she's the one I turn too. I picked it up used, P+C in perfect shape, but rough on the outside for $600, she wears a 30 inch Stihl bar with square chisel and a...

    Muffler mod.

Parris, Seriously, That's REEAALLLY Good for your first time tig welding! Way better than mine I know that for sure, cuz I blew so many holes I had to finish/fix it with a mig! :) The beauty of TIG is, as long as you get good penetration on your initial pass, which I'd say you did, is, it...

    New To Chain Saws...Stihl 025

Sobriety is a good starting point! :givebeer: Beyond that, I HIGHLY recommend some form of hearing protection, I can't cut without it. Then eye protection. Many ways to accomplish that. Safety glasses, Face shield/screen. Or you can get you an all in one type thing. Most are a hard hat with a...

    New To Chain Saws...Stihl 025

Welcome aboard Dana, if you like/need/want chainsaws just a little bit. You better be prepared, cause this place will drain your wallet faster than anything! That being said, first thing I'd do, if it were my saw, is drain both the bar oil, and most especially the fuel out of it. If you...

Craigslist help, can I count on YOU?

I'll help if I can. I'm in SW Missouri, but can easily access SE Kansas, and NW Oklahoma. I work weird hours, but sometimes that can be a good thing. Love the idea! Murf

What was it like back in the day?

Awesome story tree_md! Reminds me somewhat of my grandpa, one of those larger than life kinda guys that didn't have a whole lot to say, but when they spoke, by golly, you BETTER listen! Think I got something in my eye after reading that.... Thanks! Murf

About to start with a chainsaw mill

The hickory flooring may be do-able. Keep in mind I've never done hickory flooring, but I've done my share of Red Oak. I wouldn't see any need to Bolt it down, you could nail hickory once dried as I don't think it would be any harder than oak. But that's assuming it would be cut dimensionally...

About to start with a chainsaw mill

Man, Rikbrooks I admire you're enthusiasm for your project. I've considered doing the same thing except with red oak, as I have 80 acres of the stuff and it needs a good thinning anyway. But like Barneyrb mentioned, trying to drive nails into kiln dried oak would be a nightmare! That and trying...

    Need to get these running

That don't sound like a bad score. Especially for free!!! Husky's are good saws no doubt, but you may hear from a few die hard stihl-heads that'll tell you to ditch 'em and head for the nearest stihl dealer! :dizzy: As far as what to do? If they were mine I'd clean em up a bit flush out the...

    Wright and homelites

The Wrightsaws shouldn't need a whole lot of work, other than a carb kit maybe. I've got one exactly like your copper colored one that I've got blown apart, awaiting final cleanup and re-assembly. One thing I've learned about wrightsaws is, Every one you find will be in Great shape! They just...
