Howdy yall, haven't stopped in for quite a spell. I thought I'd give you guys an update on my build I did 5 or so years ago. I built an 066 carcass with the stated parts in the title. I'm very very pleased still. I'm going to say it's gotten roughly 500 hours put on since the build with no...
I have one of these saws, and your experience has been duly noted. As for your cylinder I'm not sure what you SHOULD do, however I know what I would do. My solution is to try trimming that dimple down. It's already broke so if it breaks more, well, big whoop.
What are the best ways to set one up to be as portable as possible? I'm in western Oklahoma for a location reference, myself and a friend are looking at plans for mills but are unsure of the most cost efficient way to build. I have been reading but for some reason have found little on band...
just last friday i had oh about 5 trees i had to stack wedges on to fell. what a mess. i second the pounding top and bottoms. worked out for me over just getting hit in the knees by the damn thing spitting back. bucked that thing up! lol:laugh:
Dang! and i thought that mine was clean. they do run like champs for what is it all of 48 cc's? Mine pulls the 16 inch Duromatic like a champ. really smooth AV nice handling. overall a very very nice saw to me.
how does that thing work? i think if i can figure that out id be inclined to build one myself. seems to work really well. it looks like it would be well suited to my timber in the area.
i too use the "felling maul" lol. that what i call it. they work great for felling and splitting. sometimes depending on how manly i feel at the time i even split right after bucking.
well since im still in high school and such, i must drag along with a measly morsel of something that is supposed to be a pay check. when gas here hit 3.10 i almost died. now it 3.30 a gallon. i think the economy, well whats left of it is going to tank again.
well thats a nice set up. i wished i had one of the or a 5 ton. duals all the way around is my thing though. this soft ground we get here in NE oklahoma will swallow trucks on the fire dept. Im glad to see there are a few here my age that can and WILL work for their money. shame that there are...
when i get home tonight i will check to make sure i still have partS not just a part. i do know off the top of my head i have a carby off a yellow thing. gaskets in it a dead i know but the rest of the thing should be cherry.
the wider cover is for noodling. it allows for better discharge of the noodles that have a horrible habit of clogging the regular covers. id do it just cause they look cool.
i dont have any saws worth sending to the auction block. i do have a few odds and ends parts for some old yellow saw. i have no idea what model. i just know it was a McChulloch. Id be happy to ship out what parts i can find if i can get an address. (not a mini mac part in the lot)
