    Do trees evolve?

You did some biology at school I take it? Which parts didn't fit in with the dogma?

    Do trees evolve?

Plants evolve, just like any living thing. In fact it wasn't till 140 million years ago that flowering plants evolved and that coincides with the evolution of insects needed to pollinate them.

    What makes a Jonsered "turbo"?

There's supercharged two stroke diesel trucks and turbocharged two stroke snowmobiles out there.

    Outside fire pit

Well, it might be slightly redneck but... Washing machine drum with legs welded onto a nut that threads onto its spindle. It threads off so its better to carry when needed.

Looks like a Stanley #78 rabbit plane, as found part way down THIS page.

Seems like this is the case with loads of vehicles over here that have common rail injectors. They just don't last well at all.

I don't know but I've seen a saw with that cutout over here in England as well, I couldn't work it out.

    Husky 51 stripped carb bolt

I'm not familiar with that saw but if its been bodged at the factory could you get it done under warranty? Failing that use a helicoil kit to put a thread insert in there.

These measure SCFM and not pressure. I've used one on a TIG set IIRC and they have a little ball bearing that lifts up higher if there's more flow.

The power of a grease gun....... lesson learned.

It must have been above the exhaust port otherwise it would have let the grease out of the exhaust port. Err, I think.

Anyone with the Stihl Special tool ZS (Case splitter) able to do a favour for me?

This one taken from a picture Lakeside posted... Could anyone with one please put the large flange side down onto their scanner and scan it in and maybe write the diameter of the large flange on the picture as well. I want one but don't have enough spare cash at the moment and I reckon I...

Thanks very much, I have a few old woodworking tools kicking about as I tend to prefer to buy an old quality tool than a new made in China thing. Here's a fairly recent buy. Over the years I've used a few drawknives (cleaning up old oak beams for barn conversions and so on) and one thing...

I take it that the orange bit is steel? Another good one, thanks for posting it.

Home made service tools...What have you made?

Good one, plus being European I often find that the SAE sockets that come with most sets aren't much use to me (metric being almost ubiquitous over here) so its something to do with them other than use on threaded bar as pullers. I must have repped you a while ago so I can't do it again yet...

Home made service tools...What have you made?

Great stuff, I've knocked up something like one of those myself so its good to see other designs. Might have a go at making a piston stop and a dial gauge one at some point as well.

This is the 74 Auto Vice (English spelling) that I had a bit of a go at with a twisted wire wheel recently, still needs to clear off some of the paint in the hard to reach parts before re-painting it again. This is the part for bending bars round a radius as far as I can work out...
