    Phew glad that ones done!

Heres a large Messmate i helped my dad with on the weekend. As you can see i just love noodles. Now we have to somehow move all those blocks down the hill to the splitter and then I'll help dad split them too. Then we'll watch the girls neatly stack it while the boys enjoy some well earned...

Wondering if it would be wise to cut out baffle inside firebox?

That baffle plate is there to stop the top of the fire box from burning out and to stop the top of the heater from over heating.Ie glowing red hot. If your gonna put a flue on top you'll need the baffle plate to stop all the heat and flames going up the flue too. If you wanted to, you could...

    Makita 9010 Bigend failure....HELP!

Hey Rick, cheers for the reply..... By the sounds of it, it aint gonna be a cheap fix.....BUGGER! Was hoping to just get away with a bearing and maybe a rod... The rest of the engine is still as new inside, as to why it failed, all i can tell you is the rod got hot for some reason as...

    Saw for um...er...wife...

Mine has taken a liking to our Solo 630 with 12" bar, its nice and light, starts easy for her and has a bumperlink chain, just wish she could keep the tip out of the dirt once in a while:bang: and learn to sharpen it too..

    Makita 9010 Bigend failure....HELP!

Hey all, I have a Makita 9010 with a bigend bearing failure and am wondering whats the best way to go about repairing it? Looking in the parts manual it appears that the crank and conrod is one assembly, does anyone know if this is the case? At this stage i have the saw half torn down but...

Log splitter slide rebuild - how free should it be?

Ok, in my instance the ram is rear mounted so the rod will flex sideways especially in twisted wood if the slides are sloppy.By sloppy i mean 1/4" play....not good. I guess this depends on what wood your splitting....... With a longer pusher there is zero tendency for that plate to twist...

Log splitter slide rebuild - how free should it be?

I recently rebuilt mine too, got sick of wearing out the slides:bang: I use mine professionally............So have some experience here. Clearance wise your 16th of an inch or 1.5mm is just about perfect IMHO. One thing i learned along the way is that you can't make it too long, mines 13"...

    Built another CSM

Morning Stef, Thanks for that, i do have a few bigger ones laying around that i can mill, unfortunatly i can't move them to my milling site but dosn't matter there still doable. So, if i cut a 4x12 (+kerfs) off the top of a large log i should end up with 3 straight 4x4's yes?
