    McCulloch Chain Saws

Thanks for taking the time to write all that, Poge. It certainly may help a lot of old timers in this hobby. If your ears ring after any loud event, you have damaged your ears. Sure, the next day you will be fine and will probably hear normally but some damage was done. Additionally, your ears...

Yeah it was pretty congested where I was at LOL. Actually I moved close to a small town but still in the country. I have a little more land but on a busier road.

Ron, I used to do a lot with my Macs but since I moved last year and don’t burn wood anymore (except a little bit in my shop) that hobby has kind of been sidelined. I really enjoy the weekly reports of your (and Brian’s) exploits. I guess I am living my chainsaw life vicariously through you.

Does anyone know the whereabouts of an auger accessory for the 2 man Macs? For sale, that is. I have the saw, just need the auger and gearbox attachment for it.

Welcome John! The 10-10S was my first ever Mac and the saw that started this eccentric path I’m on. Jim

If money is no object, I really like time-sert inserts. It would be quite expensive if you are only using it once but you’ll never have trouble with it again. http://www.timesert.com/

Ok, I’ve never come here to gripe before but I guess I’m in a mood. Does anyone have any luck with EBay? Mostly I see $150 non running 1-41’s, $350 10-10’s, $45 air filters and such. Tonight this was listed and the guy said it runs great! I’m not sure how , that coil flopping around has to throw...

Having more projects than I’ll complete in this current lifetime, I was thinking of listing this 10 series geardrive for sale. Can any one help ID it? I don’t see a tag in the air box, although it could be hidden under the monstrous bullfrog carb. I know there were a variety of the gear drive 10...

In the old IPL’s, McCulloch calls the bars blades. 3-25, 4-30, and two man saws, so you’re in good company.

As Poge and Joey stated, it shouldn't take a lot of force to get it off. The second type you pictured is good, usually not enough clearance to use a jaw type puller.

MOST have two 1/4-20 threaded holes. Use gear/steering wheel puller.

I'm just a novice, but I'll attempt an answer. The knowledgeable regulars will be along shortly to add to what I say or correct me if I'm wrong. It could be out of time, you would have to pull the flywheel to see if the key is sheared. Also check the coil lamination to flywheel gap, it should be...

Want to Sell MAC SP 125

A brand new member claiming he doesn't know if a SP125 has a market, but he has a pile of them, including kart motors? Sounds pretty sketchy. I bet he also could use some help getting a Nigerian princes fortune into the US.

Poge, if the 82cc Macs have the same tank as 10-10's I'm sure I have a spare I'd be happy to send you. Just let me know.

I wanted to share the awesome gift my wife surprised me with. The mother of all fire pits! Each side has an image for a different interest of mine. She nailed the chainsaw side! She had heard me talk about the old goose logo and knew I liked it. Of course, the metal work guy didn't have a stock...
