Foley Belsaw 308 grinder horizontal scale

I don't know but I quit using mine because no amount of fiddling got me a consistent right and left hand grind.

Help me decide, to sell or not to sell: Husky 394XP

The 372 can probably run a long bar in a pinch. Also the 394 can run a shorter bar. Honestly I just like to use my 390xp instead of my 575xp, so I'd probably sell the 372

    mcculloch super 250

The plates we got on ebay. I think the oiler uses crankcase vacuum and is pretty temperamental.

    Stripped spark plug thread repair

https://www.arboristsite.com/members/srcarr52.39776/ this is the cylinder fixing guy. Yeah Sean, totally agree with you. I used to be more driven to fix it when this was the biggest saw I could get my mittens on. Now I've got a 576xp and a 385xp

    Stripped spark plug thread repair

There's people on this forum that do them for less than 120, last time quoted, 75 plus shipping. I already spent $50 on the insert deal (not as nice as the one linked here, for sure) and even tried a special spark plug with a washer instead of a taper seat. The solder just seemed like it would work.

    Stripped spark plug thread repair

I tried a higher end one from Napa, may have been a timesert. But the previous owner had already tried a cheap one which did its damage before I tried another one Thanks for the info on the solder!

    Stripped spark plug thread repair

I have a useful but junky 575xp that ran great with a pretty clean looking oem cylinder. it was used for logging so it needs plastics and etc. Which is just fine for me. We tried the insert (steel solid not a coil) repair and it didn't hold. Because I gambled on the insert, I've resolved I'm...

    Clark Michigan 35A Hesitation/no power

Fixed the head gasket a few weeks ago. It quit running well enough to move itself. Exactly as the compression check showed, had bad head gasket. Took the head to the machine shop to be machined, without a really good straight edge to check I would guess they knocked off as much as 6 to 10 thou...

    groundsman pay

I made 15 an hour as ground crew 2018. No matter what I was able to do/offer, it never changed. Quickly took another job as soon as I could. Plus got a nasty tendon injury that took 8 months to heal also.

How do you decide what your "ride" is?

After months of searching and both of my other trucks broken down bad, got this 2009 Dodge Ram 1500 Laramie Crew with 140k for 13k. It has everything I wanted, from the subwoofer to the backup camera, heated and cooled seats, heated steering wheel, a great snowplow, a pretty sweet topper. I have...

    Bigger Saw Recommendations

The 575-6xp... they're used saws only at this point. Just ones I have experience with. Ran a Rancher for years, these were just better in every way. I'm poor, so this is the best I can do currently.

    Bigger Saw Recommendations

If you like the 460 you'll like the 575xp and 576xp saws. Bump in displacement and oiling to run bigger bars but still useable day to day with a 24" or a 20". Very smooth antivibe and predictable and torquey like the 460 but more juice everywhere you need it. They are strato design like the...

    husqvarna 576xp

I have both saws so I was curious myself The cylinders seem to be different but this shop seems to be selling the pistons as interchangeable. I am in need a cylinder for a 575xp myself...

    Two-Stroke Oils: All the Same?

Used stihl hp ultra mostly for at least 10+ years and no issues that i know of, but good to know that it's not a good oil. What I have left can go in the diesel truck. I couldn't read the big oil thread too much bs. Thanks for the sparknotes.

How do you decide what your "ride" is?

Great job with the Escape, Sean. Economy, gas and interest rates are going to tank the truck sales, I'm wanting to do something now but will just have to wait and bottom feed off it. There's some older crew cabs and Suburbans etc that could fit the bill as well

How do you decide what your "ride" is?

Thankfully my life has evolved enough to boil me down to a point finally where I'm looking at everyone's favorite truck category, 30k and down 2500/3500 trucks. Side business requires heavy towing occasionally. My 96 k1500 is broken down with a bad head gasket. So is the 2000 c3500 dump truck...

    Poulan wild thing song

No antivibe sucks but they perform just fine as long as they run. Have cut a lot of wood over the years with these. A Sears with the 18" bar and antivibe was my "big saw" for many years. I finally do own a real wild thing and it leaks horribly but runs okay. About ready to send all these...

    Need a 40cc saw

Same here until this one. The gear assys were like $40 when these came out and I first broke it. Now they're alot cheaper and available aftermarket. How tight? Just enough to support the gear assembly behind the metal plate but allows the bar to move, call it snug but not tight. Some pressure...
