check the ground strap between the cylinder and coil mount. they sometimes crack or forget to be put in. ask me how I know.

thanks to all of you. it is a 056 as you say, found it on ebay . the guy that gave me the stuff had both an 064 and a 056 and didn't remember what it came from.

going through a box of stuff I came across this cylinder which I think may be for a 064, it is 54mm bore I think. also in the box was a tilly carb, HS138A that looks like the carb from my old 2100cd except the choke linkage is reversed. here are some pics of the cylinder. the number on it is...

have a 1999 55 with an open cylinder. piston is toast. will try and clean cylinder but it looks iffy. otherwise all original and complete with original hard case. willing to do a complete rebuild if I can get a suitable replacement P&C. any out there ? also any opinions on the mako P&C set ...
