I extended the log stripper far enough to protect the tank when in horizontal mode by welding some 1/4" X 4" flat strap to it and bracing the new guard back to the stripper. I also added a quick and dirty table that helps splitting wood and also protects the engine.

Same thing hapened to me about a month ago. I used some 1/4 20 grade 8's. I spent some time adjusting (tweeking with a hammer) the lower hinge so that it was aligned with the upper (unbent) hinge before installing new bolts. The door actually opens and closes easier now than it ever did before.
