New Husky 346xp - lousy filter!

Your right! But I think the photo's have been changed? because I know the difference between the two styles of filters, and Niko(saw troll) also does and he noticed the difference as well back in Aug, when the OP posted. So I don't know what the hell is going on????:msp_confused:

    Removing and shaving Limiters

Brake clean does do a good job of cleaning I use it alot, but be careful around rubber(fuel lines) and some plastic because it will mess them up.

    Husqvarna 365 Special, or 365 X-TORQ

I'd go with the "Special" proven record and plenty of spare parts options , not to mention they run good, real good.

    Removing and shaving Limiters

Nothing wrong with plenty of good advice, the more the merry. I've got a 2165, and 365 which have the same style limit caps as what's on your 372, Get a good pair of linemans pliers and grab them good and give a yank, the plastic cap's will pull right off, then all you have to do is pry the...

    Echo Advertisement!

Do you have proof on the 600p not being a shinny? I've seen one in red. I know in the vid, there is a Kiortz label but if you look at the serial # plate ,I'm sure that it says Shindaiwa engine corp. Maybe I'm wrong but if Echo was phasing out Shinny saws why make one in red? I also think the...

    piston question?

At the risk of sounding like a rookie or being dumb, here goes when you look at a piston from the bottom(upside down) one side of the pin bosses always has a little bump on it , at least husky pistons do why? or what is it for? I'd take a picture to show , but I won't have a camera till the...

Paint stripper safe on a magnesium saw?

:agree2: Jerry is correct, the prep work and how you prepare the mag, aluminum is very important (is there nothing you don't know Jerry) Epoxy primer is a beeotch! to get your tools clean! I have used etch as well on a Johnson outboard I painted up for gunning waterfowl and it's not bad but...

Paint stripper safe on a magnesium saw?

I've used a product called tal-strip ,(I think I spelled it right) its called aircraft paint stripper ,on my aluminum boat prior to painting it, it never corroded the aluminum and you put it on with a brush and the paint swells up and can be rubbed off with rags( not sure about how it would work...

    Any J-red 2054 guru's in the house?

I have both top ends, I got a second hand 46mm open port and the 2055 top end closed port new, I'll mostly likely go with the '55 top end though, From what other members say and from what I have read on other forum's they are a factory hot rod, wish I had another chassis to run both versions so...

    Husky 55

Early model 5000's were open port , the later were closed I've got an 1982 that is closed. I think the open port models stopped in '80 or '81 I'm still trying to verify that, 500's were always open port.

    Any J-red 2054 guru's in the house?

Any one know why Jonsered changed the mufflers on this model of saws, from the ones with louvers on the front to the type that exits out the top like saws being made today? I don't doubt you guys about the top cover and the fit, I just asked because the IPL'S show different part numbers for the...

    Partner 5000plus pistons?

You probably have seen or read the same SB That I have seen, so when it comes to the 5000 top end on a 50,51 or 55 you don't need to make any changes to the case is that what your saying? The changes are only necessary if using 51 or 55 top ends on the smaller cases? Is'nt the bolt hole...

    Any J-red 2054 guru's in the house?

I've got a 2054 w/44mm piston & jug, and I wanted to swap it for the 46mm top end, and put the top port muff on it, do I have to get a different top cover to fit? and if so anyone know what the part # is for the right cover? I've got 4 or 5 IPL's for this model but I 'm not sure which one is...
