    372XP will not start

Please help me with my ignorance. Saw has always started and ran very well. I understand the theory most people have of if it aint broke don't fix it. If this was/is a lean issue how do I know when its running lean? I will admit I have not changed the fuel filter. Have kept the air filter...

    372XP will not start

I did as you said. Yes to my surprise there is a lot of vertical scoring and scraping. Lots of hours on this saw but meticulous maintenance but heavy use since 2009 with no issues other than bars and chains and filters. I did notice that one of the bolts on the inside of the muffler had...

    372XP will not start

Cutting with my 372XP yesterday and got to the end of the cut and the log dropped and the saw died. Tried to restart and no luck so checked fuel, it was low so I filled it. It won’t start. Won’t even try. Air filter is clean, I have spark, same fuel I had been using all afternoon...

    017 Stihl

I have a Stihl 017 that starts, runs, and idles fine and cuts good until I shut it off then it won't restart. Seems to flood. Have tried choke on, choke off, and just normal on setting. Have removed spark plug when this happens and it is wet, I dry it and pull rope several times to get fuel...

Thoughts on a stock Husqvarna 372XP with a 30" bar,3/8 chisel skip tooth chain. Will the saw handle

Thinking of putting a 30" bar with 3/8 chisel skip tooth chain on my stock Husqvarna 372XP. Is 30" too long for this saw?

    Stihl 017

My Stihl 017 fires after a few pulls with choke set then choke is released and saw starts with just one pull usually. Everything seems to work as it should. The saw seems to have decent power but is a little on the slow side wrapping up and won't idle. If it shuts off it won't restart...

    Homelite 240

I have a Homelite 240 that usually starts after 4-5 pulls with choke set then kick choke off and 1 pull and saw starts. Lately I have had to feather the throttle for 10 seconds or so get saw to speed up but when it does then it runs great, seems to have good power and good response, and always...

    Pickup load of firewood.

Been selling most of my firewood by the pickup load instead of by the cord. Can anyone tell me on a 8ft long fullsize pickup box, stacked neatly, to the top of the bed rails what percentage of a cord is on there. Some people say they can get a cord on a pickup but I have never had a cord of...

    X27 fiskars

My wife is great, she bought me a new FISKARS X27 splitter and did not even ask. She must have found my list of items to buy for firewood. Super just in time since last weekend I had a brain fart and backed over my hydraulic splitter. Damaged some engine pieces and brackets.

    Bar maintenance

Thank you all for the information. I routinely check the rails for burrs and have hand filed the edges(sides) of the bar to remove burrs but never was for sure how to flatten the top of the rails smooth again like they were when they were new but the posts given here have helped with that. Thanks.

    Bar maintenance

What is the best tool or method for keeping bar rails in good condition? I see several ideas in the Baileys catalog but want opinions on what works best. I normally flip the bar over every time I switch out a dull chain, clean out the bar rail and grease the sprocket. Any ideas or opinions...

Been doing a bit of reading on Russian olive

I like burning it. Seems to have good btu's and coals nicely. The only draw back I have had with it is if you get a little smoke in the house when feeding the fire the smoke is a nasty smelling smoke (I think). We have some around here that people put in tree rows or windbreaks, most of it...

    i got some cottonwood

I burn a lot of it here in western Kansas. I have noticed if it is cut green and is much bigger in diameter than 24" and is in log form that the center doesn't seem to dry out. I had some 36" diameter logs for 3 years that was dry on the outside but I never cut it into firewood lengths and it...

    Chest cold

You are probably right. I should count my blessings. I don't get sick very often but look out when I do. Usually it is short lived.

    Woodland pro bars

I was searching for a different bar for my Husqvarna 372XP I am currently running an Oregon bar but have not been satisfied with the life of the Oregon bar. My question is is the Woodland Pro bars from Baileys as good as the catalog say they are? I am running a 20" bar and just wondered if the...

    Chest cold

Thanks for all the thoughts! I have split this stuff before and had a little bit of a stuffy nose but never this darn sick. As long as the bark is off of it and has been for awhile it sure doesn't seem to be a problem. I have a whole lot more of this to split so I think next time I will wear...
