Anyone know the initial l and h setting after kitting the carburetor? All I’m finding is take it to the dealer. I’ll throw it in a river if that’s the only option.

I believe you. I think I’m just a slight turn away on the screws from it starting as reliably as my older Makita saws. I just haven’t put time in learning about this saw that I did the older ones. I think I did the muffler mod before I used it the first time. I mulched my asparagus bed yesterday...

Thanks for the link. Luckily the hydro lock problem is put to rest. Ill attempt starting today using the choke . I’ll give it one or two pulls with the choke on and one pull with choke off then remove the spark plug to see if it’s wet or dry. My older Makita 50cc saws were bad about flooding if...

I haven’t had that issue since I got the carb tools and adjusted the needles. I haven’t spent enough time adjusting mine yet where it’ll start easily, been laid up past 4 months and just now getting around again. I think I’m a little lean on the l screw. I wouldn’t have thought just adjusting...

Id smoke any old school muscle car on here...

I used to buy the old mopars to maintain my Cuda, engines and transmissions etc. Turned around and sold them, huge mistake. 3 were bb cars. GTX, Road Runner and another Cuda along with a couple of nice small block cars with 340’s in them. I’d be sitting on a gold mine had I kept them. Lol

Id smoke any old school muscle car on here...

My son brought a 5.7 hemi challenger home to test drive. I asked him if he wanted to race and he said sure. I smoked his doors both times in my 05 2500 Cummins dodge. :drinkingcoffee: A mild build cost me $24,000 including a mostly billet 48re transmission. I installed a fleece cheetah turbo...

Did yours hydraulic lock? If not we probably have different issues.

If I use it every two or three days it’s not an issue. Longer than that , hydraulic lock. I guess I’ll try a new needle and seat. I’ve got lots of cutting to do this winter. I want all the bugs out. Hard starts in the summer. I figured screw settings on that.

It runs good and idles fine after clearing the cylinder. I was thinking float, what else would allow the hydraulic lock?

Received it today and thanks. Pretty slick. Now my next question...... after letting the saw sit for a week or two I have to pull the spark plug and drain gas from the cylinder or I can’t crank it. Any ideas? It’s been this way since I got it new.

Thanks, I’ll give it a try.

If it’s a one tool deal I’d be ok with that. That kit makes it look like a combination of several pieces.

I guess I could order the posted kit and try it. Looks like a lot of parts to lose compared to a regular screwdriver. You guys are raining on my parade. No way to get the caps off or the same carb with regular screws available?

    Makita EA5000p

I can see dropping some of that and never finding it. Lol Do the dolmar 5100 saws have regular screws in the carb? If so is it the same carb without caps? I’d have no problem just buying a new carb so all I needed was a regular screwdriver.

Anyway to remove the caps on the screws without damaging the screws or an earlier version of this carb without the caps?

If you could only grow three vegetables what would they be

Sweet corn is great. The corn farmers grow here ain’t the sweet variety. It’s used as feed and alcohol production. Hard to say what you got.

Asparagus tomatoes and jalapeños.......3 is so limiting.

THE LEGENDARY 'CUDA MUSCLE CAR IS COMING BACK, AND 2020 CAN'T COME FAST ENOUGH

Just read an article about it, he tried to buy it from the guy who ended up with it. He wouldn't sell it to McQueen. Loved it too much. Lol
