1 yr update... Just didn't last. I think I got 10 hours out of it before it started leaking again. So I decided to stuff a bunch of JB Weld into the drain hole, held up for 5 minutes and still started leaking. Not worth the time anymore. Gotta find a new motor now. This is what I used...

FYI... Non repairable based on Troy Built not having any parts for it. Also looks like its just welded on there? I may need to just let it ride or find a cheap pump. Troy Built wants $592 for this 11Gpm pump! 4 yrs ago it was $420!

Hey everyone.. Any idea why hydraulic fluid would leak from there? I had that U bracket tight. Hoses and clamps are good and tight. It would leak from under the coupler which was just replaced. I had to use some force and banging when removing the old rusted coupler in case that info helps...

Definitely cap it. Doesnt affect the draft and will save you from birds, rain or snow getting in there. You arent blocking the air flow, you're just putting an umbrella over it

Most people don't wait for winter to get wood. Those that do know supplies are low and will have a hard time finding "seasoned" wood in winter. I have delivered in winter but only to family members..

I Finally got a chance to bring the thing out and try it. I drained the oil for the 5th time and put fresh oil. I actually used the fill port to drain it. So far so good! Ran like a puppy and no leaks! I only ran it for a couple minutes though. I will try to remember to update this thread...
