    Serial number help with an old 044

    Been awhile since I refered to my notes and saws, but I have a 044 runner, I think is 10mm, and a 12mm with a scored piston/cyl that I need to clean up and swap. I also have a chance at a 440, hard starter, but should be fine.... I was going to upgrade the 12mm to the 046 bore.... too...

    372xpw I had a chance to buy a 372 last year rebuilt by a dealer/shop. they went through everything..... I don't need it, just a bad case of CAD at the time... Now I don't know what to do with it....

    Scammer in the trading post.

    What some guy up here did, was tell them he has trouble cashing the cheque, and needed $50 to get it to clear from "His Friend" at the bank... But they would need to Western Union the money. he got his $50 and then deposited the cheque to see of it was good. It wasn't and the bank came back...

    so what I hear is there is no real advantage to trade a 55 for a 455... unless lots of money is also changing hands, in your favor, seems no reason to trade.

    Bought a chainsaw - hope I didn't get taken in the deal

    when you say "chain moving at idle"... can you adjust the idle down? take off the bar and chain, fire it up to warm idle, and see if you can stop the clutch with your finger. Be careful, but if the clutch is seized up, you won't stop it. If you can stop it, it probably high enough idle...

    keep the top work surface within 2 inches of your bent elbow.... based on how you plan on addressing the work... standing, sitting etc. it will save your neck/back.

    appears to be well ventilated also... That is very important if using any form of solvent, and when running the engines in the shop. it's an OSHA thing....
