    Scrounging Firewood (and other stuff)

What? Just saying what I know. Skid loaders are far more productive for loader work than tractors. If you try to argue this u have not used both. For this type of work. Such as loading firewood , moving dirt & such.

    Scrounging Firewood (and other stuff)

Get a John deere track loader it will out lift most tractor loaders, hands down. More lifting power than Kubota track loaders. This I have proven, numerous times.

    Scrounging Firewood (and other stuff)

For my wood processing, a tractor is way to clumsy. I like to see bucket cutting edge. And for moving snow it is way faster, than my loader tractor. Also is way easier to get though the woods. I do haul it in dump trailer.

Log splitter motor question (Hydro locking)

I have the same splitter as you have. Mine has a fuel shutoff valve on the engine kill switch lever. When in the engine off position the fuel is turned off as well.

    Stihl HT101 Clutch Issue?

I had one of these, that would do what u are describing. Black plastic drive shaft will slip inside of shaft. Remove motor turn clutch drum with your hand . I clamped chain in bench vise. To determine what or were it was slipping. Turn on it quite hard to test it. I hope this helps you.

    MS261-C Smoky, Out of ideas.

U will have a hard time tuning it with no bar or chain. And agree it will load up and smoke badly. I personally only run synthetic oil. Lot less smoke. I bet once it does some cutting, it will be fine. Just my two cents worth!

    Wood Processors worth the money?

Mine is not at all low on power ! 14 hp Kohler is more than enough. The first year I put some time on it to work out any bugs with it. Under warranty. And the current models have more improvements, than mine. I do 150 to 200 face cords a year.

    Absolutely disgusted with my sharpening

I would use semi chisel chain, no point to have to keep sharp. It is better suited for dirty wood. Much easier to sharpen. Just my 2 cents worth.

Which log splitter for under $2K?

Just to clear up what i am trying to say,on the return of thr wedge engine will pull down . Seems like it builds up pressure in the return line , and or filter. I think it needs a higher rated gpm filter setup. Which in turn should help it run cooler, the hyd. Oil. And hopefully use less gas. I...

Which log splitter for under $2K?

I have a 40 ton tsc splitter. It is just over a year old, and is on its second hyd. Pump. Also second control valve. Told them when i took it in to be repaired that hyd. Oil would get so hot that water will sizzle when put on cylinder. This is on a 20 degree day , after splitting half facecord...
