Flyers I get the kid going door to door with flyers. I tell him to come back when he hears the stumpgrinder shut down. I do this because he does a lousy job cleaning my truck. -Scotty

    Stump Grinding Contract/Workorder

disclaimers Chips will not be removed and roots are not chased unless specified in writing above. Always call the utility companies before you grind below 6" if you have any fear that utilities are near. It takes just a couple of days for them to do a mark-out and it's free. I hope the...

    Getting into the business

sub it I am a stumpgrinder, not an arborist. But I am a business man first. Find a good Arborist to team up with. Sub him anything you can't handle in exchange for an education. You can make a few bucks by marking up his fee and you will get the on the job training that you will need...

Tricks for keeping a chain sharp in Cedar?

cedar stumps I just did a cedar stump job on Friday and many I had to cut down to earth. I just touched up my chain the night before and I swear to god , in 8 stumps the ???? saw was wood-dull by the end. (may have hit the dirt once)

    Stump Saw

Gang: I need your help. I am a dedicated stumpgrinder. I am buying a new saw and want your opinion. Occasionally, I am asked to cut storm-felled trees , cut high stumps and will probably be selling cord wood when I get my splitter finished. Currently I have a (don't laugh) Poulan, 46cc...

    stump teeth

the law of 3's Most grinders have a number of teeth divisible by 3's. Take the outermost set of three and move them back to the middle when beat. Move the middles to the front and so forth. Once the third or last set is beat then either sharpen or replace. For the record I run...

    shtil

Same deal Redbug nailed it. I had the same problem or issue. I threw the ???? saw(family heirloom no less) I got so pissed and it came down to me hitting debris and strong arming the right side cutters. Grinding brings it back to even.

    The typical tree guy

Stumps kill cutters I'll learn the hard way. I like to trim the stumps down as far as I can so I don't have to grind as much and that is the key to my problem. Thanks for the eggs Mark!

    The typical tree guy

thanks thanks guys. My local chainsaw shop is owned by a man who either has no personality or he is scared of me. I asked him for some hints but he didn't offer any. I see him every month or so and ask the same question and I get the same answer, 7.00 to sharpen your chain. I'll try...

    The typical tree guy

haha nice. Marky-Mark gave me a sharpening lesson but it was all for not cause I just can't do it. Question: Once the blade is super dull does it make more sense to hit it with the grinder(back past the rounded tip), touch it up with the round file or keep filing with the round file...
