You are correct, it's an early 028 with points and condenser and the spark is weak, looking to convert to an electronic ignition. I believe 024 ,026, 028, 029, 038,044, 046, 064. 066 ignition will work.
Thanks
029 coil
Hello people , I'm working on a Stihl 029 with weak spark. I'm looking to convert to an electronic ignition. I think all I need is the coil and the flywheel will work fine, if I'm wrong please chime in.
Thanks, Kevin
Got things to trade and worthless paper.
Did you ever pop the jug off that big pioneer to see if anything special was going on in there, or did anybody ever figure out what the ex stands for?
Thanks Kevin
Nice saw, it does look like a 455. There is usually a little plate under the clutch cover, but sometimes they fall off. It might be stamped on the bottom of the saw under the handle. It should also say the model under the K&N sticker.

I've been working 10-12 hour days and I don't have much time to tinker with chainsaws anymore, but I'm still on the hunt for a 655 if somebody has one they would part with. I have a mint P60 with minimal paint loss plus moldy greenbacks I'd trade for a runner.
I've got 2 P39s and a PP405 that...
This method works great for mixing spray cans to get your desired color, usually with about 3 cans you can dial in a color preety darn close. Wish I had a decent paint dealer around here.
I used farm yellow, a little white, and a touch of key lime green mixed together to get a color that...
You can mix up your own rattle can very easy. Get the best matching color you can find and empty about half of it in a box or something.
Then get a few other colors that you can mix to make the color you want. Put the half can in the freezer for 20 minutes to drop the pressure in the can...
It does look like it's gear reduced with a plastic shield to block most of the dirt being thrown at the saw.
I'm only looking to dig 6' trenches about 12"s deep close to the house where the dirt is softer and this looks perfect.
It looks like they have been making these for a long time and...
Has anybody ever used this saw attachment? I've been doing a lot of trenching lately and read a couple of positive reviews on this thing. Are they available in the USA anywhere or do any New Zealand members know how much these cost?
Thanks Kevin
Here is the only video I could find...
It does sound like an air leak somewhere. Did you fully disassemble the carb and spray carb cleaner in all the Orafices or just put in new gaskets? Does this carb do the same thing on your magnum? Did you seal up that exhaust leak and test again? Did you test the seals?
